‘Vertigo,’ ‘Free Fire,’ and Much, Much More
This week on the One Perfect Podcast Channel we have a score of great shows coming up.

If you don’t know the format, Monagle and his guest discuss the film both before and after seeing it, weighing expectations against reality. The result is a review show unlike every other, and one you have to check it out.
Then on Shot by Shot, the cinematography podcast hosted by myself and One Perfect Shot creator Geoff Todd, we’re talking about a film many consider to be the greatest ever made, Alfred Hitchcock’s Vertigo, which was shot by the Master of Suspense’s favorite Dp, the great Robert Burks.

"They're always there. They're like ghosts," says George A. Romero. The Godfather of the Living Dead isn't referring to one of the ravenous monsters from his movies, but rather movies themselves... the ones he never got to make. Films that never made it out of Development Hell are the focus of Untold Horror, a new project from Dave Alexander and Mark Pollesel that features filmmakers—including George A. Romero, John Landis, and more—discussing their films and passionate ideas that never came to fruition.
In addition to reflecting on films that never came to be, Untold Horror is also helping to resurrect these passion projects, beginning with George A. Romero's The Little World of Humongo Bongo, a children's book that will be released later this year. To learn more about Untold Horror, we have the official press release with full details, as well as the series' trailer:

The Beijing Olympic Games are just nine days away - and the excitement that's building may not be the kind the Chinese government was expecting.
Western news crews still haven't hammered out an agreement with the government about where and what they can cover outside the athletic events.
And now even NBC crews who are covering the Games are beginning to feel the walls close in.
NBC News producer Adrienne Mong, who is faithfully blogging about covering the games on NBC's World Blog Web site, yesterday freely quoted foreign journalists who have dubbed the Olympics the "No-Fun Games," "The Fun Free Games" and "The Killjoy Games.
