The Undying is a supernatural thriller created by first time feature filmmaker Steven Peros ("The Lot"). This is a haunted house styled film that incorporates other themes of romance and possession as character Barbara (Robin Weigert) falls for a Civil War ghost. Can she make him mortal? Surely only gods can do this, but Barbara's passion ensures she will at least try.
The Undying has received some positive early reviews and Peros freely admits being influenced by other horror films including The Changeling and Robert Wise's The Haunting (IMDb). This title also has a release on DVD December 12th through Mti Home Video and those interested in an intriguing storyline of death, possession and rebirth can preview the film's trailer below.

There's an unspoken sadness in each character throughout the entire film, but things are rarely talked about. That's essentially what the film is about - the disconnect between people in the wake of a tragedy - and I hope that comes across to the viewers, says filmmaker Matthew Nourse. - - - - - - There are certain movies that I watch that linger with me for weeks or even months after the viewing. There is a sense of identity and connection. It's like travelling with your best friend: you don't have to entertain him or worry about him getting bored. You simply carry on thinking your own thoughts and at times, you can even forget he's there with you. True intimacy allows us to be ourselves. I think that's what some films do - they allow us to identify with the characters and share with the filmmakers in their journey.

I loved that this film recognizes the intelligence of the viewer, allowing the layers to peel from the characters through their interactions with each other about the unspoken loss that has so affected each of them. - - - - - - With such praise for an indie movie, what can you do but get interested, right? Well, I did and to a certain extent I think some other people are also interested. The only problem is that it's already been released and the only way for you to watch it now is on DVD. For starters, the lead is no other than the awesome young actor Ryan Donowho, with whom I just did an interview (http://themovie-fanatic.com/exclusive_articles/interviews/ryan_donowho_interview/). This young guy can act and act well. I don't know if I watched him...
