We all know the story of Romeo and Juliet's fleeting romance and tragic deaths, but what happens next has always been a mystery -- until now.
Inspired by the novel by Melinda Taub, ABC's new summer series, Still Star-Crossed, ramps up the action and drama after Romeo and Juliet die, and the treacherous feud between the Montague and Capulet families that continues to rage on. But another forbidden romance presents itself at the end of the premiere episode and that will certainly ruffle 17th century feathers as the season progresses.
"It's the ultimate romantic story about forbidden love and I think a lot of people can relate to that," actress Medalion Rahimi, who plays Princess Isabella, tells Et of the time-honored Romeo and Juliet tale. "The tragedy in the end -- I don't want to say that it's good to necessarily glorify young lovers' suicide -- but the idea that because of prejudice these young lovers...

Spoilers for a 400-plus year old play, but Romeo and Juliet both die at the end of William Shakespeare's tragedy. But if you think a little thing like death is going to stop mega-producer Shonda Rhimes from developing a sequel series, you've got another thing comin'.
Variety reports that Rhimes — who's known for Grey's Anatomy, Private Practice, Scandal, and How To Get Away With Murder — is producing a TV adaptation of Still Star-Crossed, Melinda Taub's 2013 book that is described like this:
Romeo and Juliet are gone. Will love live on? Despite the glooming peace that's settled on Verona after the recent tragedy, Montagues and Capulets are brawling in the streets. Faced with more bloody battles, Prince Escalus concludes that the only way to truly marry the fortunes of these two families is to literally marry them together. Everyone is skeptical, but none more so than the pair selected,...

Scandal, Season 4, Episode 2, “The State of the Union”
Written by Heather Mitchell
Directed by Allison Liddi-Brown
Airs Thursdays at 9pm Est on ABC
On this week’s Scandal, Olivia is blackmailed by Cyrus, Abby breaks through to Mellie, Huck and Quinn address their issues, Fitz seeks Olivia’s advice, and Rosen adopts Olivia’s methods for “winning.”
One of the best decisions Scandal is making this season is allowing the deaths of Harrison, Jerry, and James to hang heavy over the characters. Rather than quickly moving past everyone’s grief, as fast-paced shows have a tendency to do, season four is keeping the dead present in almost every scene. As a result, this season is much darker than past seasons, and Scandal is already better for it. This show has frequently crossed into melodramatic territory, but the healthy dose of realism is doing an excellent job keeping Scandal grounded.

Jim Rash can do no wrong. From his impeccable five-year performance as the Dean on "Community" to his Angelina Jolie-inspired, perfectly-timed pose at the 2013 Academy Awards, to an astute parody of "True Detective" with buddy Joel McHale, the Oscar-winning screenwriter is charming to the nth degree on and off camera. As the host of SundanceTV's "The Writers' Room," he effortlessly pushes for insights from some of the most in-demand writers out there -- and often gets them.
