Let the "Hunger Games" parodies begin.
Harvard Lampoon is one of the first out of the gate with a mock trailer to the non-existent movie adaptation of their upcoming book (got all that?), "The Hunger Pains," which chronicles the plight of inept heroine Kantkiss (not "Katpiss") Neverclean, a young girl living in the telemarketing district of Peaceland who is forced to compete in the violent annual Hunger Games.
The trailer features a rather spirited performance from Katie Amanda Keane as Effie Trinket stand-in, Effu Poorpeople, and a handful of celebrity cameos, including Lily Tomlin as Kantkiss' proud mama. The gags are hit-or-miss (mostly the latter), but that final shot might actually make you laugh out loud.
One thing's for sure -- this will probably end up being more tolerable than any "Hunger Games" spoof that will surely be a part of "Not Another Epic Movie" or "Scary Movie 5" or whatever...
