I’m Byron C. Miller, horror filmmaker, musician, and fan! Since preschool, I’ve had a love for the horror genre and a great need to tell scary stories. I was teaming up with friends to build mini haunts for the unsuspecting babysitter and filming little monster movies with my dad’s VHS camcorder. Then middle school took […]

I genuinely, and I mean genuinely try to like every film I watch. And unfortunately not for altruistic reasons. I find myself very busy some days and I can’t stand wasting my time on anything that’s not worth my time. So whenever I watch a film, whenever I agree to review one, I try to locate each least one thing I like or love about a film. And it’s usually not hard.
Then there’s The Anatomy of Monsters.
I don’t like this film. I don’t hate it, but I can’t say I like it either. Don’t get me wrong director/writer Byron C. Miller is trying super hard here, and it shows. He and his writing partner Paul Morgan have crafted a sustainable idea. Not a nice one, but one you wouldn’t go run screaming from if pressured. This issue is...

Back for the attack with flicks up the crack!
The Dead Next Door: Ultimate Edition
• Release Date: Available Now on Blu-ray
• Written By: J.R. Bookwalter
• Directed By: J.R. Bookwalter
• Starring: Pete Ferry, Bogdan Pecic, Michael Grossi
As a young horror hound, I was inundated with stills and stories about an upcomin’ zombie bomb that was sure to make all of us Evil Dead-lovin’ psychos positively explode with gorish-glee! That flick, The Dead Next Door, never seemed to materialize. Well, flash forward four years, and ol’ Tdnd sails through a stormy sea of financial and production to reach its completion, with a gentle nudge from Sam Raimi’s wallet (Master Cylinder my arse), in 1989. Finally gore-mets were served their bloody buffet!
And what a smorgasbord it is, my fiends! We follow the adventures of a government sanctioned zombie kill squad in a walking-dead-ravaged apocalypse as they travel to Ohio...

Director Byron C. Miller describes his indie horror flick The Anatomy of Monsters as “midnight poetry,” which is actually a pretty awesome way to describe a movie. Instead of saying, “Oh, hey, yeah, my movie’s about a bloodthirsty killer,” Miller… Continue Reading →

Indie filmmaker Byron C. Miller dropped us a line to clue us in on his next feature film, Phantom Theater, and we've got everything you need to know about it, including how you can help, right here!
"I want to shoot my next feature length motion picture this October, and I need your help!" writes Miller. "It's a classically suspenseful, darkly humorous, character driven, blood-soaked roller coaster ride of terror."
For more information on how you can make this project become a reality (and given the amount of talent Miller displayed in his previous film effort, Night, that may not be a bad idea), check out the official Phantom Theater kickstarter page here.
Dig on the plot crunch below. Look for more hopefully soon.
Synopsis
