Candiani Denim has unveiled the first jeanswear brand with natural, biodegradable yet stretchy fabric ever produced and distributed to date. Coreva Design, the name of the new line, takes advantage of the elastic properties of a plant material, derived from natural rubber, to provide comfort without having to resort to the use of synthetic yarns. It’s a stretch denim canvas that, by not using plastics, reduces its ecological impact at the end of its life by degrading in less than four months instead of 200 or more years.
The ambassador of the new brand is U.S. singer-songwriter LP, who topped international charts with the 2015 single “Lost On You.”
“I haven’t eaten meat for over 20 years. I never wear fur. I only own one naturally electric car. When I dress I try to make a conscious and sustainable choice. I have to admit that I do wear some leather from time to time.

The first trailer for Sony’s sex comedy No Hard Feelings, hitting theaters June 23, includes star Jennifer Lawrence consoling an ex by declaring she hasn’t forgotten him: “Last night, I thought, ‘I miss that fucker.’ ” Moviegoers might share similar nostalgia, recalling a not-long-ago era when studio offerings centering on ribald jokes would regularly play theatrically — before going missing.
This summer suggests a possible changing of the tide. As audiences return to cinemas post-pandemic, studios appear to be using the next few months as a testing ground for the theatrical return of the R-rated comedy. No Hard Feelings, about an awkward teen whose parents hire Lawrence’s character to date him, will later have company from Lionsgate’s Joy Ride (July 7), Universal’s Strays (Aug. 18) and MGM’s Bottoms (Aug. 25). Such projects are akin to horror films in offering viewers the experience of watching shocking moments with a group of like-minded strangers.

Justin Bieber has hijacked Will Ferrell's Funny or Die for a day. On Thursday, April 1, the 16-year-old bought the sketch comedy web site and is relaunching it as "Bieber or Die". "The timing just seemed right for 'Bieber or Die,' " he said in a statement. "No one really cares for 'funny' anymore anyway. I mean, try to define funny and then try to define Bieber, and you will understand completely."
The "Baby" hitmaker explained in a video that he plans to take over the site because of his star power. "I'm a star," he said. "I do what stars do. I ride on yachts. I autograph lady lumps. And I pay people to slap them." He further boasted, "I once ran into a club. They said, 'Sir, you're not old enough.' So bought the club and I made it a Chuck E. Cheese. Now who's old enough,...

Justin Bieber just bought himself Funny or Die and renamed it Bieber or Die. "Anything that's not Bieber, dies," the 16-year-old said. The website additionally announced, "Justin Bieber has decided to buy Funny or Die and do with it whatever his tiny little heart desires." The website is then loaded with a string of videos of him which range in duration.
The teen heartthrob did not actually buy the site but went along with the writers of the website who want to celebrate April Fool's Day. Lauren Palmigiano, one of the site's writer/producers, told MTV the story behind the purchase while still sticking to the script. "Justin just wanted to run the world," Lauren said. "He came to us and wanted to buy a Web site, and we realized that comedy can only get us so far. And videos with Justin Bieber will take us to the level we're trying to get to.

Photo by Melissa Szilagyi TribecaFilm.com: Tell us a little bit about your film. Lauren Palmigiano: My film is called Cried Suicide. It's about a girl who fakes a suicide attempt in order to get attention from an ex-girlfriend, and then she and her best friend decide they shouldn't tell anyone else that she faked it, and so her friends come over to console her in various silly, ridiculous ways. TribecaFilm.com: What inspired you to tell this story? LP: I wanted to do something about when you're heartbroken and you're sort of at that crazy place of, "I just need attention at this moment." And so from there I took this person a little bit farther and had her actually call 911 and fake an entire suicide attempt. TribecaFilm.com: What's the craziest thing that happened while making the film? LP: Michael Jackson died. TribecaFilm.com: Oh no! How did that affect your filmmaking?...
