No cause of death is available at this time, a representative for Organized Noize told The Hollywood Reporter.
“We are deeply saddened by the sudden and unexpected passing of our son, father, husband and brother Rico Wade,” his family shared in a statement. “Our hearts are heavy as we mourn the loss of a talented individual who touched the lives of so many. 21 Savage’s third solo album, American Dream, begins with his mother, Heather Joseph, describing her family’s emigration from Britain to America during his childhood. “Every path that I walked was for my son,” she tells us. (Big Rube of Dungeon Family fame penned her introduction.) It’s a concept many others have used before, most famously by Jay-Z and his mother Gloria Carter on “December 4th” from 2003’s The Black Album.

Atlanta post-punk outfit Algiers have acquired a rare verse from Rage Against the Machine’s Zack de la Rocha for their new song, “Irreversible Damage.”
“Irreversible Damage” is a blistering and relentless cut, built around ceaseless percussion, uneasy synths, and what even sounds like a drawn out version of an amber alert phone alarm. De la Rocha cuts through this chaos with some characteristically steely bars, spitting, “This a relapse / what it be god / No rehab for my jihad / A rapture in a grief storm / Time on my neck and it be gone.

After 30 years of friendship, Outkast’s Big Boi and Organized Noize’s Sleepy Brown act more like brothers than musical collaborators.
They came up together in Atlanta as a part of the historic musical collective the Dungeon Family, named for the dark, unvarnished basement where Outkast and their contemporaries recorded and bonded in the Nineties. Big Boi and Sleepy Brown were essential in laying the groundwork for the city to become Black American music’s reigning capital.

Big Boi and Sleepy Brown brought fellow Atlanta luminaries Killer Mike and Big Rube to The Tonight Show for a rendition of their new song “We the Ones” on Monday, November 2nd.
The song has a fiery political edge, and the performance opened with Big Rube delivering a bit of spoken word from a podium emblazoned with the presidential seal. Big Boi, Sleepy Brown, and Killer Mike proceeded to perform the track while video screens behind them played scenes from this year’s Black Lives Matter protests and other events.

Many people have found themselves back in their hometowns this year, grappling with a rapidly changing, unpredictable world from environs they’ve known all their lives. For Spillage Village — the musical collective consisting of chameleonic duo Earthgang; nimble rhymer J.I.D; soulful singer Mereba; producers Hollywood Jb and Benji; charismatic rapper Jurdan Bryant; and alt-r&b superstar 6lack — that meant heading to Atlanta, where the group formed and most of its members are from.

With all the hype surrounding the controversial album cover, the upcoming short film and the ongoing "G.O.O.D. Fridays" project, there is one fascinating story that has gotten a bit lost in the run up to the release of Kanye West's new album My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy. During the Los Angeles premiere of "Runaway," West revealed that the next single from the album (the third overall, after "Power" and "Runaway") will be a track called "All of the Lights," and it will feature a staggering list of guest stars. On that track, there are drop-ins from Rihanna, Alicia Keys, Elton John, Fergie, John Legend, The-Dream, Tony Williams, Kid Cudi, Charlie Wilson, Ryan Leslie and La Roux's Elly Jackson. "It's completely seamless and completely ghetto as f---," West said of the track.
