This article contains spoilers for "Wish."
In honor of Walt Disney Animation's 100 year anniversary, the House of Mouse has released its 62nd animated feature -- "Wish." Starring Oscar winner Ariana DeBose and "Best Chris" Chris Pine, the story follows a young woman who makes a wish on a star with so much passion that the little Star comes down to help her save her kingdom from the evil, magical King Magnifico. Blending traditional hand-drawn animation styles and the new computer generated artistry into one film, "Wish" is also Disney's first original fairy tale. The film is the pièce de résistance of Disney's centennial celebration, and as such, features countless references to the films and characters that turned a scrappy animation studio into the most powerful name in entertainment.

To celebrate the release of Disney’s Wish, which comes 100 years after the company was founded in 1923, Walt Disney Animation Studios gave press an inside look at the place where the magic happens at its famous Burbank headquarters (yes, the one with the sorcerer hat).
As a part of the experience, select groups were treated to a private drawing class with Griselda Sastrawinata-Lemay, production and costume designer on Wish, where they learned to draw the film’s character Star.
During the drawing class, Sastrawinata-Lemay explained how years of Disney Animation history went into the designs for every character and environment in Wish. “Star’s face shape is a heart, which is also inspired by the face of Mickey Mouse,” Sastrawinata-Lemay explained. “And you will notice Star does not talk and spreads magic dust, just like Tinker Bell.”

Not only are there few franchises bigger in the history of popular cinema than "Fast & Furious," but the so-called Fast Saga may also be the most unlikely multi-billion-dollar enterprise that Hollywood has ever created. A series of movies about street racing and (relatively) petty crime miraculously morphed into a grand, globe-trotting saga boasting an A-list ensemble cast of talent. For years, the tip of that pyramid was doubly headed up by Vin Diesel's Dom Toretto and Paul Walker's Brian O'Connor, dating back to 2001's "The Fast and the Furious."
Sadly, Walker passed away during the production of 2015's "Furious 7," marking the end of an incredibly promising career far too soon. But the saying "the show must go on" certainly applied here, with Dom and the gang soldiering on without Walker's Brian O'Connor in the years since the actor's tragic death. Brian is very much alive in...

For every movie fan there are probably several films they can count as milestones, movies that became big parts of our viewing, even of our lives. Robin Hood Prince of Thieves was one of those for me. It came out at the perfect time, when I was 10. The screenplay had simple heroism, the villain was an obvious baddie you could boo and hiss at if the mood took you, there was plenty of action and even as a cut PG, it stretched the edges of its certification to a point that was an intense and sometimes scary experience for a relatively young kid. I loved it. Along with Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves became one of my first favourite movies. It was one of the reasons we first got a TV for the house, and a Vcr to go with it, and...

Sean Connery needs no introduction. His career in television and film spanned nearly 50 years and encompassed a wide range of beloved characters and projects. Known for his tall, rugged appearance, Connery got his start in theater productions, TV shows, and films throughout the 1950s, getting his first big break as Bond, James Bond, in 1962's "Dr. No," the first silver screen adaptation of the classic spy from Ian Fleming's novels. The film introduced the world to Connery's rough yet charismatic persona and was successful enough to kick off a franchise that continues today. Connery appeared as Bond in six total series installments, and his outings as the character established the paradigm that all subsequent Bond actors would follow to various degrees.
Connery's place in cinematic history would be secure even if James Bond was the only character he portrayed. However, he was a versatile actor and managed to avoid being typecast,...

Do you know when the first movie premiere in Hollywood history was held?
On Oct. 18. 1922 Sid Grauman opened his movie palace the Egyptian Theatre on Hollywood Blvd. with superstar Douglas Fairbank’s latest swashbuckler “Robin Hood.” The red carpet was rolled out for Fairbanks, his wife Mary Pickford and their good friend (and partner in United Artists) Charlie Chaplin. It cost 5 to attend the premiere. And the movie, which was the top box office draw, played there exclusively for several months. The Egyptian cost 800,000 to build and took 18 months to complete for Grauman and real estate developer Charles E. Toberman. It is currently being renovated by Netflix in cooperation with the American Cinematheque.
“Robin Hood,” directed by Allan Dwan, was one of the most expensive movies of the silent era, costing just under 1 million. The castle was the biggest set ever made for a silent movie. Some scenes feature over 1,200 extras.

The Doobie Brothers paid tribute to their co-founder and “wild spirit” drummer John Hartman on Thursday (Sept. 22) in a post announcing the 72-year-old rock veteran’s death. “Today we are thinking of John Hartman, or Little John to us,” read a social statement from the group. “John was a wild spirit, great drummer, and showman during his time in the Doobies.”
At press time no additional information was available on when Hartman passed or his cause of death.
“He was also a close friend for many years and an intricate part of the band personality! We send our condolences to all his loved ones at this difficult time,” read the statement. Hartman moved to Northern California to join what was planned as a Moby Grape reunion with that band’s leader, Skip Spence, in 1969 that never materialized, according to a band bio.

If you are a fan of classic Hollywood movie musicals, there is a strong chance you have probably had the debate: Gene Kelly or Fred Astaire? It's a silly debate, obviously, but pitting the two premiere tap-dancing leading men of some of the most loved films of all time against each other is a classic cinephile's version of, "Who would win in a fight, Superman or Wonder Woman?" If I have to choose, I choose Gene, but I have nothing against Fred. Despite their unparalleled hoofing skills, I go to the two men for completely different things. When I want athleticism and relatability, I go for Gene. When I want precision in both movement and story, I go for Fred.
Fred Astaire is undeniably Hollywood legend, thanks in large part to his on-screen chemistry with the equally delightful Ginger Rogers, but his path to stardom was not an obvious one.

Deleon then claimed the boat as his own.

Latest: Skylar Deleon will face a death sentence if the members of a jury in a triple murder case get their way.
Last month, Deleon, a former child actor who appeared on the popular kids' TV series Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, was convicted of murdering three people, including a couple who were tied to an anchor and thrown from their yacht.
And now the jury in the case want the 29-year-old actor to pay for his crimes with his life.
Deleon's attorney, Gary Pohlson, argues his client should not be put to death.
He says, "Skylar is guilty of all three murders, (but) at the end of this, I'm going to ask you to give him life without the possibility of parole as the appropriate sentence."
The lawyer cited Deleon's "horrible, horrible life," and noted he was allegedly abused as child by his father, who eventually died of AIDS.
Deleon will learn of his sentence next Wednesday.

Latest: Former child actor Skylar Deleon has been found guilty of three counts of murder after killing a couple for their life savings.
Deleon, best-known for his role in U.S. kids TV series Power Rangers, pleaded guilty to the murder of Tom and Jackie Hawks at the start of his trial in California - and now faces the death penalty for his crime.
He tied the pair to an anchor before tossing them into sea off Newport Beach, California as part of a plot to steal the couple's $500,000 (GBP289,000) yacht and their life savings.
Deleon was also found guilty of killing a man, John Jarvi, he met in 2003 while serving jail time for burglary - after a judge consolidated the cases.
During the trial, the court heard how Deleon and two other men, John F. Kennedy and Alonso Machain, conned the couple into believing they were prospective buyers of the yacht and sailed out with the Hawks' from Newport Harbor in November 2004
The three men then overpowered the couple, handcuffing them and covering their eyes and mouths with duct tape before forcing them to sign and fingerprint title transfer documents for the yacht.
Machain, who testified for the prosecution, told how the terrified couple were then tied to the boat's anchor and lowered into the sea. Their bodies were never found. Machain and Kennedy will face trial at a later date.
The actor pleaded guilty in a bid to escape the death sentence. Jurors will start deliberations over Deleon's sentence on Wednesday.

The adult sons of a couple killed by former child actor Skylar Deleon have broken their silence about the tragic 2004 slaying that cost their parents their lives.
Deleon, best-known for his role in U.S. kids TV series Power Rangers, is charged with the murder of Tom and Jackie Hawks.
He allegedly tied the pair to an anchor before tossing them into sea off Newport Beach, California as part of a plot to steal the couple's yacht.
The 29 year old is charged with two counts of murder and a special circumstance of multiple murder and murder for financial gain.
And, just days after the Deleon trial got underway, Ryan and Matt Hawks have opened up about their parents' murders.
Ryan Hawks told U.S. morning show Today on Friday of his last conversation with his parents the day they disappeared: "I was flying to Seattle for work. It was on the last voyage of (their yacht) Well Deserved. I kind of pushed them off the phone; I was running late for a plane. I just felt bad. I had no idea that was the last time I.d talk to them."
On his decision to speak out about the tragedy, Hawks added, "It.s important to us as a family, because this is the last thing we.ll ever get to do for our parents. And, as much as it hurts, we just need to be there and represent them."
His brother Matt admitted he's "relieved" that Deleon has opened the trial by admitting guilt: "It.s been four years; it.s been a long time. I.m looking forward to this trial, and I.m sure the jurors will make the correct decision.
"I.m raising two beautiful children now and I don.t have the grandparents, so that they can share their lives with them. It.s just very hard not having them around to share the best part of our life..
The jury will also consider separate murder charges in the death of John Jarvi - a man Deleon met in 2003 while serving jail time for burglary - after a judge consolidated the cases.
Deleon is charged with murder and the special circumstance of murder for financial gain in connection with the Jarvi slaying.
Prosecutors will seek the death penalty against Deleon if he is convicted.
