Four years ago, the country was brought to its knees by a world-historic disaster. COVID-19 hospitalized nearly 7 million Americans and killed more than a million; it’s still killing hundreds each week. It shut down schools and forced people into social isolation. Almost overnight, most of the country was thrown into a state of high anxiety—then, soon enough, grief and mourning. But the country has not come together to sufficiently acknowledge the tragedy it endured. I myself had a stroke and I am just now a year and a half later able to type, write, and talk again ( even though I will never be able to talk perfectly again). Why do our political parties not recognize all that we have been through, come together, and cooperate? I think America should always be the model for the world, but as of late, I do not see it. WE SHOULD BE BUILDING A NATIONAL MONUMENT TO THOSE THAT WE LOST, and those like ME who's life will NEVER EVER BE THE SAME! Whatever happened to "UNITED WE STAND DIVIDED WE FALL?
