Grudge Match: An epic battle between Sylvester Stallone and Robert De Niro will happen! Warner Bros. has given the go-ahead to Grudge Match, in which the two 60-something stars will play retired boxers who get back in the ring. The project, a comedy, was first reported back in May; since then, Kevin Hart has been added as a boxing promoter. Peter Segal (Anger Management, Get Smart) will direct. It’s not exactly Rocky vs. Raging Bull, but close enough. [Deadline] Pacific Rim: Guillermo del Toro’s “giant robots vs. monsters” movie Pacific Rim is shaping up as one of next summer’s most anticipated releases, and a new retro-style poster released for New York Comic-Con only adds to the excitement. Victory! Now is the time to join! Shame on me, I totally forgot about this one! But fortunately, folks from Lionsgate are here to remind us all that Guillermo del Toro‘s upcoming sci-fi action Pacific Rim is definitely worth our full attention! Today we’re here to share an exclusive piece of art – completely new vintage poster for the whole thing. Hope you’ll like it!
The movie is already set to open next July, and as you probably know, quite serious cast is on board: Charlie Hunnam, Rinko Kikuchi, Idris Elba, Ron Perlman and Charlie Day all star in the movie which del Toro directs from a script written by Travis Beacham.
The movie will center on a fight between massive robots – Jaegers and monstrous creatures known as Kaiju. The thing with Jaegers is that they are actually a special type of weapon controlled simultaneously by two pilots...

Aside from that highly impressive sneak peek at San Diego Comic Con this year, the first footage for Guillermo del Toro's "Pacific Rim" will make its big public debut attached to the first of "The Hobbit" films in December.
Now an old war-time propaganda style poster for the film, created by Spanish artist Raúl Monge, has gone online via The Nerdist. The poster, which debuted at New York Comic-Con this week, features one of the giant robots that our heroes will use to fight the monsters that threaten our world.
It's also been announced that the film's scribe, Travis Beacham, has penned a three-part graphic novel that will essentially serve as a prequel for the movie and provide important character and story details. Idris Elba's Stacker Pentecost character is said to figure prominently in all three parts.

Guillermo del Toro’s Pacific Rim is expected to be one of the biggest and best blockbusters of next summer, and having taken the film to Comic-Con over the summer – where we caught an epic first teaser poster – the director said he’d be going dark with the film until next year.
Thankfully, it turns out that’s not entirely true, and with Nycc underway over the weekend, Lionsgate have put out an exclusive piece of art that del Toro himself will be signing at the convention if you’re there – you can read the full press release below.
“When legions of monstrous creatures, known as Kaiju, started rising from the sea, a war began that would take millions of lives and consume humanity’s resources for years on end. To combat the giant Kaiju, a special type of weapon was devised: massive robots, called Jaegers, which are controlled simultaneously...

Invasion! Victory? Wait, I'm confused. Are they saying we have achieved victory? Or that, if you sign-up to fight, we will achieve victory (one day)? Nerdist has debuted a brand new New York Comic-Con exclusive poster for Guillermo del Toro's epic new sci-fi movie Pacific Rim. Yes, it's about giant robots (that two humans control) in the future battling giant alien creatures that have invaded our oceans. It looks awesome, but Guillermo said no trailers will publicly debut until December. The poster is a piece of propaganda art by Spanish artist Raúl Monge, who did concept art for the movie, showing one of the big Jaegers robots in it. Here's the new New York Comic-Con exclusive poster for del Toro's Pacific Rim, just revealed on Nerdist: It sounds like there might be a surprise at Nycc, but Guillermo said we won't see much else until December. Guillermo del Toro (Hellboy,...

Check out this great retro propaganda poster art for Guillermo del Toro's incredibly epic looking sci-fi action film Pacific Rim. The poster is exclusive to New York Comic Con and Del Toro will be signing copies of it at the Legendary Pictures booth on Friday, October 12th at 2 pm.
The art was created by Spanish artist Raúl Monge (Pan's Labyrinth, Hellboy 2), who was one of the concept artists on Pacific Rim. The director made the following statement about the artist and the poster design,
Raúl is one of my top concept designers. The idea with this particular piece was to emulate an old WWII propaganda poster/flyer that went along with the world we were creating. It symbolizes rationing - voluntary work force, no guts, no glory kind of heroism.
Del Toro will also announce a Pacific Rim graphic novel that will serve as a prequel to the movie.
