"It sounded like fun," Vaccines guitarist Freddie Cowan told Digital Spy. "People ask what you're doing this weekend, I say, 'I'm playing a cave called the Devil's Arse'. British band Mystery Jets have launched a graphic novel to accompany their new album Radlands.
The indie rockers recorded the album in Austin, Texas, and it was released on April 30.
They decided to extend the Americana-fuelled stories of the album through the medium of comic books and turned to Us publisher Bluewater Productions.
Lead singer Blaine Harrison says the new graphic novel, called The Ballad of Emmerson Lonestar, is a three-part modern western, telling the story of a "jaded, lovesick country singer and mystic" in search of a childhood sweetheart.
"In the same way that all fiction originates from fact, various twists and spikes in his story can be traced back to the experiences, places and characters that inspired the writing of Radlands, during our time spent living out in Austin," said Harrison.
"He does everything we wished we did or didn't do, and says everything we wish we had or hadn't said.

Sheffield four piece rock outfit Blue Lip Feel kick off their first major UK tour this week in the steel city they grew up in, and with a new Ep currently in the works, well 2012 looks set to be a crucial year for the band. Formed in the tail end of 2010 they worked with hallowed Sheffield producer Alan Smyth (Pulp, Arctic Monkeys) on a four song Ep named Shallow Getaway, which showcased their unique, enchanting sound whilst placing them at the fore front of the Sheffield music scene.
Blue Lip Feel’s debut Ep (which can now be found on iTunes and Spotify) contained the catchy, crowd pleaser ‘Tulips To The Top’ and the stupidly rocking stadium-sized ‘I’ll Never Know Who’ an enigmatic collaboration with Sheffield rapper Nate. Joshua 'The Count' Harvey has revealed that he is eyeing up the charts with his current single 'After Dark'. The track from The Count & Sinden was released on Monday and also features William Rees and Kai Fish of the Mystery Jets. Asked if he had any commercial expectations for the track, Harvey told Digital Spy: "I really want it to go in the charts because I think it's a fantastic record. I think it's one of the best records that I've been involved in. "We don't have the massive marketing budgets that all the major labels have and when you look at the charts it's 99.9% major labels pumping money into singles. Maybe to a lot of people it'd be a miracle if we got into the charts, but I always have high expectations of my work!" Asked if the Mystery (more)...

The "Teenage Dream" teaser clip is made entirely of photos taken from the set of the video, and it only further confirms what we already know about the thing: mainly, that it's going to be very hot, and feature very little clothing.
