American alpine skier Julia Mancuso hasn’t been home from the Winter Olympics in Sochi, Russia for long, but she's already planning her return to the snowy slopes.
Julia Mancuso Wins Bronze At Sochi
Mancuso, 29, competed at Sochi 2014 in the women’s alpine events, and picked up a bronze medal for her time in the super combined-slalom. Though Mancuso is known as one of the best alpine skiers in the world and has captured more Olympic medals than Lindsay Vonn, making her the most medaled female American skier, her place on the podium isn’t her sole motivation.
“My mom has always taught me there’s enough for everybody,” Mancuso told Fox Sports. "There’s enough medals to be won, there’s enough game, there’s enough good energy for everyone. And as part of a team, the most positive we can be for each other, the better everyone will be in the end.

We doubt anyone thinks getting into Olympic shape is easy. And you're probably aware that U.S athletes spend 24/7 training for Sochi. But did you also know that even when they aren't prepping for the games they're enjoying other fitness activities. Take a sneak a peek into what their workout routines are really like: Bronze medalist Julia Mancuso is the most decorated female alpine skier with four Olympic medals, and loves to workout in the warm weathers of Maui. Off the slopes and looking for something to do, Team USA's Julia Mancuso braved freezing waters for an unlikely Sochi surfing adventure. "I never thought I'd be surfing in Russia," she tells me. Family and friends traveling with U.S. skier Ted Ligety in Sochi knew his two prior failures to reach the podium at this Winter Olympics weighed heavily. So, when he came barreling down the mountain with the gold medal-winning run in the men's giant slalom Wednesday, the celebration was that much sweeter. "It's awesome," says Ligety, 29, the three-time defending world champion and the first member of the U.S. Alpine team to win an event at these Olympics. "They've given me lots of support, and they were role models for sure. They taught me hard work and independence. They made ski racing about me,...

NBC’s primetime Tuesday coverage of the Olympics was filled with chilly thrilling spills, as crazy weather bedeviled crazier sports. The women competing in the Alpine Giant Slalom faced rough terrain, while the men competing in Snowboard Cross faced rough terrain and the fact that Snowboard Cross is basically a demolition derby without any safety protocols. Summer Olympians Lolo Jones and Lauryn Williams crossed over into a whole new weather pattern, competing in the Women’s Bobsled (or “Bobsleigh,” as they call it in Westeros.)

Nancy was brutally attacked before the 1994 Winter Olympics, by Tonya’s ex-husband, Jeff Gillooly, and two of his accomplices. Now NBC and Espn are debuting rivaling documentaries that will force viewers to decide whose side they are on!

Miracle on Ice, Part Two? In an intense battle at the Winter Olympics, the United States upset the home team Russia on Feb. 15 — all because of a baby-faced star from Washington.
Three periods and an overtime wasn’t enough to determine a winner in the heated hockey matchup between Russia and the United States on Feb. 15. It came down to a shootout, and one American skater in particular, T.J. Oshie, made sure that the U.S. would not be denied.

About one week through the Winter Olympics in Russia, the United States has been relatively strong, pocketing 12 total medals. And as it turns out, many of our American winning athletes also deserve medals for being super hot!
So far, the United States hasn’t exactly blown away the competition at the Winter Olympics (give us a break, we don’t live in sub-zero year-round like those Norwegians), but we do have something else to hang our hats on. Because some of the American athletes who have won in Sochi are some of the sexiest people we’ve ever seen. Let’s take a look.

Julia Mancuso
Because of an unreal photo shoot Julia did with GQ before the games, we had our eyes on Julia. And she did Not disappoint. The skier, who might as well be a Victoria’s Secret model, took a bronze medal in alpine skiing.

Celski, 23, a speedskater who specializes in short-track races, won a bronze medal in the 1,500, and another bronze in the 5,000-meter relay, at the Vancouver Olympics in 2010. He was the only American to make it this far in the short-track race, and was considered a favorite to medal, if not to take the gold.
He believes his narrow loss on Monday is due to bad luck and a poor strategy – he slowed down after gaining a lead, and ended up in third place before losing momentum and coming in forth.

Just in time for the start of the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi, Russia, alpine skier Julia Mancuso is gracing the pages of GQ magazine. Above, she lounges on a red faux fur jacket by Carmen Marc Valo, while below, Mancuso poses in a slip catsuit by Norma Kamali.
She tells the magazine that despite having been a bit of an underdog at the 2010 Vancouver Olympics, it's "not a shock" to her when she has a good race. And despite her rivalry on the slopes with Lindsey Vonn (who has had to drop out of the 2014 games due to an injury), Mancuso says she's "racing against all sixty people out there."
Mancuso's events are scheduled for Feb. 10, 12, 15 and 18, so she'll be a busy woman for the next two weeks. Follow all the coverage at NBCOlympics.com and check your local listings for the TV coverage.
