Gabrielle Union is set to produce and star in romantic comedy “The Perfect Find” with Stuart Ford’s Agc Studios financing and producing, Variety has learned exclusively.
The project is based on the best-selling book of the same title by Tia Williams (“The Accidental Diva”). “The Perfect Find” is scheduled to shoot in 2019.
Union will produce through her production company I’ll Have Another along with Jeff Morrone, Tommy Oliver and Codie Elaine Oliver. Agc’s Ford, Greg Shapiro and Glendon Palmer are onboard as executive producers, with Holly Shakoor Fleischer of I’ll Have Another co-producing.

Exclusive: Being Mary Jane star Gabrielle Union has teamed with Rebel Maverick and Amyale to secure the rights to Juleah Del Rosario’s debut novel, 500 Words Or Less, a young adult fiction which will be adapted into a feature.
Union will produce the project under her I’ll Have Another Productions banner, with Holly Shakoor Fleischer overseeing development on behalf of the company. Manaal Khan and Matt Nicholas will be producing for Amyale and Rebel Maverick, respectively.
“Gabrielle Union has championed the Ya genre for years, giving us some of our all-time favorites, and we couldn’t think of a better collaborator for this unique and poetic coming of age story,” said Khan and Nicholas.

Gabrielle Union, star and executive producer of NBC’s drama pilot L.A.’s Finest, has signed a first look deal with Sony Pictures TV, the studio behind the offshoot from the Bad Boys movie franchise.
Under the two-year pact, Union’s production company, I’ll Have Another – named as a nod to her best-selling book, We’re Going to Need More Wine – will develop broadcast, cable and digital projects for Sony TV.
