A piece of unused concept art has been released for Wonder Woman. The piece was created by concept artist Peter McKinstry and it gives us an alternate version of the villain Ares. As much as I liked the final design of David Thewlis' character that we saw in the film, this has a more menacing and crazy look. I love the demon skull helmet! This actually looks a lot like one of the early action figure desgns that was released.
This is how 'He' looked when he left the art department...after many versions, sculpted in #zbrush #wonderwoman #conceptart #conceptartist #petermckinstry #photoshop #wonderwomanconceptart #digitalpainting #digitalart

I've always liked the basic Cybermen design for Doctor Who, and over the years we've seen different variations of that design. I really like the current look of the villains, but they could have been very different. The one above has a very unsettling feel to it. It reminds me of some kind of weird looking insect. The one directly below seems to be more influenced by the 1960s version, especially in the face design.
The first few art pieces come from a new show reel from FX Millennium that focuses on the Cybermen. You can watch that video below. I also included a couple other pieces of crazy looking concept art for these character that was created by Peter McKinstry. You will find those below the video.

Whoa. Spotted on ebay:
The personal note-book used by Tristan Peatfield, who was Production Designer on Series 5 of Doctor Who (2010), between the departure of Ed Thomas and the arrival of Michael Pickwoad. A 14cm x 21cm black covered “Guildhall” notebook, it contains notes on a number of productions on which Tristan worked (most of which I cannot identify), including at least 13 pages dedicated to Doctor Who and in particular to the episode The Lodger. This includes text, designs and drawings in pencil by Tristan and his colleague Peter McKinstry, the best of which is probably the original design for the “Lodger Tardis” console and “Amy Pond, Tardis Pilot” (see photos).
This is an absolutely unique, one-off, used on-set item, which I am selling on behalf of Tristan for the benefit of The Isabella Peatfield Memorial Fund, which raises money for children’s projects in Sri Lanka. Tristan’s daughter Isabella...

For those of you who watch Doctor Who you already know about the design tweaks that have been made for the show like the new look of the Daleks. Now it looks like the series is going back to redesign another robotic race from the long running series... The Yeti.
The Yeti is a race of robots that only appeared twice in the show during the 60's. Well, they are coming back, and below you will find the new concept design for the Yeti from illustrator Peter McKinstry. You will see this creation brought to life during the upcoming Doctor Who Christmas Special. Check out the new design below and hit us up with your thoughts!
Here's the new design:
Here's the original design which is much different. They definitely look a lot more cuddleable.

The Pandorica has been the main story arc of the entirety of Doctor Who's fifth season. River Song and Suspect Zero have both referred to the Pandorica's opening, while the Doctor has dismissed these claims as "just a fairy tale." Tomorrow, however, we're going to get a pretty big glimpse at what the Pandorica is, though, because tomorrow's episode is the first of a two-part episode. "The Pandorica Opens" will undoubtedly show us the event described in the title, but some concept art might have just given us an early peek. Please, do not look beyond this point if you do not want to know the twist from the next episode! The image below was posted on the website of the show's concept designer, Peter McKinstry, so it seems to be pretty legitimate.
The Doctor himself goes into the Pandorica. That's right. It all makes sense now. The arrival...

A special auction is being organised to raise funds for research by Great Ormond Street Hospital into organ transplantation. Featuring artwork from illustrators of children works to sketches from Doctor Who designers and artists, the auction takes place during National Transplant Week, 5th-12th June 2010.
The research being carried out by the hospital is into how, in organ transplantation, these organs do not survive for as long as those that haven't been transplanted.
Works up for auction include the sketch made by model-maker Mike Tucker for the 1997 Doctor Who Night "Tardis" background (pictured here), and other Doctor Who contributors such as Colin Howard, Lee Binding, Adrian Salmon and Peter McKinstry.
For more information on the auction, visit the Art For Hearts site.
