Werner Höfer was born on March 21, 1913 in Kaisersesch, Rhineland-Palatinate, Germany. He was married to Petra Moschiri and Elfriede Scheurer. He died on November 26, 1997 in Cologne, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany.

34 years on radio and 31 years on television.
After "Der Spiegel" magazine had revealed that he started his career as
a Nazi propagandist, who expressed his satisfaction upon the execution
of opponents of the Nazi regime, he was forced to retire immediately
(1987).
He is survived by his second wife and partner of many years,Petra Moschiri, whom he had married in 1993.
