The goal in my films is to make a bridge between eastern and western cinema. In story and style I want to mix the best in both worlds. This is exactly what I've tried to do in all my movies. Whether it is a story taking place in an East-meets-West scenario (Game Night), using the Japanese style of atmosphere (In Absentia), a Japanese film made specifically for a foreign audience (152), or a westerner's view of an aspect of Japan (Rodosha).
