Guillermo Del Toro has been talking about his version of At The Mountains Of Madness, the 1931 Hp Lovecraft book. The book follows the story of a geologist who discovers amazing ruins and the remains fourteen ancient life forms which are completely unknown to science. James McEvoy or Tom Cruise are rumoured for the lead role, but the whole thing is still a dream for Del Toro as he spoke to Deadline. "We are not green lit, we are still budgeting and designing, and we are partners on this. I believe in my heart we are going to be making this movie in June of next year. We are budgeting the creatures and met with Spectral Motion and Ilm, where Dennis Muren told me the sweetest words ever when he said, no one has ever seen monsters like this. That was truly one of the highlights of my fat life, a demigod like Muren saying that.

Some time ago it was speculated that Kick Ass star Aaron Johnson would be joing the cast of Matthew Vaughn’s next project X-Men: First Class after Vaughn, Johnson and James McAvoy (who’s playing Professor X in the film) were spotted together having a “meeting”.
Whilst the rumour machine went into over drive, there was nothing said from any camp about Johnson’s involvement… Until now. A tipster has revealed to AICN that Johnson has now signed up to play Cyclops in the film:
I work in the [Redacted] and we heard today that Matthew Vaughn found his young Cyclops and it shouldn’t be any surprise because he worked with him before. It’s Aaron Johnson. This is one hundred percent locked at this point. Thought you guys should know.
If the tip is correct, Johnson will join the already cast James McEvoy as Professor Xavier, Michael Fassbender as...

Deadline is reporting that Brit actress Alice Eve, most recently seen in She’s Out of My League, is in negotiations to join the cast of 20th Century Fox’s forthcoming X-Men: First Class.
Before Charles Xavier and Erik Lensherr took the names Professor X and Magneto, they were two young men discovering their powers for the first time. Before they were archenemies, they were the closest of friends, working together, with other Mutants (some familiar, some new), to stop the greatest threat the world has ever known. In the process, a rift between them opened, which began the eternal war between Magneto’s Brotherhood and Professor X’s X-Men.
If Eve signs up, she will join the already cast James McEvoy as Professor Xavier, Benjamin Walker as Beast, and Michael Fassbender as Erik Lensherr/Magneto in the film directed by Matthew Vaughn. Vaughn is directing X-Men: First Class from...

Entertainment Weekly are reporting that 20th Century Fox are currently in negotiations with Inglorious Basterds actor Michael Fassbender for the role of Erik Lensherr, the man more commonly known Magneto, in X-Men: First Class. Magneto was originally played by Sir Ian McKellan in the original X-Men trilogy.
Fassbender is most famous for his role in Quentin Tarantino’s Inglorious Basterds, but he’ll next be seen in the Warner Bros. big screen adaptation of DC Comics’ Jonah Hex. If he signs up (there’s a rumour Sony are in talks with him for the Spider-Man reboot too) he will spar with James McEvoy’s Professor X in the movie which charts the epic beginning of the X-Men saga.
