At the risk of completely throwing my sense of professionalism out the window by filling this article with expletives, I’ll just keep calm and say that this year’s Arrowverse crossover, Crisis on Earth-x, satisfied in every way imaginable. In short, it was everything a DC TV mashup should be, and completely trounced last year’s effort. And after bearing witness to some major reveals and a great tragedy, it’s probably safe to say that we won’t forget this event anytime soon.
Aside from those game-changers we just mentioned, one of the highlights of the crossover – at least in this writer’s view – was admiring the fantastic new costumes that were on display. In the past, the costuming department over in Vancouver had done fine jobs with various other DC heroes and villains, and this time was no different. Not only did they get to break ground...

Alura Zor-El is back on Monday’s Supergirl fall finale (The CW, 8/7c) — and we have it on good authority that she’s not just J’onn J’onnz in disguise this time.

Unfortunately, as you’ll see in TVLine’s exclusive sneak peek, Kara’s holographic mother-daughter reunion doesn’t exactly go as she hopes. She turns to Alura for information on a new threat (Reign!), but doesn’t quite get the answer she’s looking for.

So far, this year’s Arrowverse crossover, “Crisis on Earth-x,” is making its bid at being the best DC TV mashup to date. Really, it’s utilizing the major players from each of the four shows making up this constellation, and flows like a true miniseries – not three distinct parts as was the case last year.
Tonight, we were treated to the first two installments via the latest episodes of Supergirl and Arrow, which saw the villains from Earth-x crash the wedding of Barry Allen and Iris West. Now, we already knew to expect that Oliver Queen and Kara Zor-El’s respective Nazi doppelgangers, Dark Arrow and Overgirl, were morbid reflections of them, but it’s the other reveals that came as a bit of a surprise.
For those of you who follow major spoilers, you may recall when set photos showing Tom Cavanagh under Blitzen’s cowl emerged some time ago.
