The cast of “Glee” reunited virtually to remember Naya Rivera, who died last July at the age of 33, at the GLAAD Media Awards on Thursday.
The tribute was opened by Demi Lovato, who had a brief role on the Fox series alongside Rivera.
“I don’t have to tell you that this year was a tough, tough year,” Lovato said. “A particular moment of heartbreak stands out for me: losing my friend Naya Rivera. I will always cherish the chance I got to play Naya’s girlfriend, Dani, on ‘Glee.'”
“The character Naya played, Santana Lopez, was ground-breaking for closeted queer girls — like I was at the time,” she went on. “And her ambition and accomplishments inspired Latina women all over the world.”
Lovato then introduced the “Glee” cast: Jacob Artist, Chris Colfer, Darren Criss, Jessalyn Gilsig, Dot-Marie Jones, Vanessa Lengies, Jane Lynch, Kevin McHale, Heather Morris, Matthew Morrison,...

On Thursday night, actress, musician and advocate Demi Lovato introduced a heartwarming tribute to the late, great Glee actress Naya Rivera. Lovato was a friend to Rivera’s Santana and also played her girlfriend on the Fox musical series.
The tribute honored the 10-year anniversary of Santana’s coming out as lesbian in the GLAAD Media Award-winning series. As Lovato pointed out, this was a groundbreaking character for the Latinx LGBTQ representation on television. “Her ambition and accomplishments inspired Latina women all over the world,” said Lovato of Rivera. “That’s the power of a show like Glee.”
The special tribute included Jacob Artist, Chris Colfer, Darren Criss, Jessalyn Gilsig, Dot Marie-Jones, Vanessa Lengies, Jane Lynch, Kevin McHale, Heather Morris, Matthew Morrison, Alex Newell, Lauren Potter, Amber Riley, Harry Shum Jr., Becca Tobin, and Jenna Ushkowitz.
“There was so much more than met the eye with Naya,” said Criss.

Ten years after the invention of the “Drunk History” format, comedian Derek Waters is reconsidering how to describe the performers who get wasted, then narrate their take on a pivotal moment in history. “I want to start calling them ‘storytellers,'” he said. “It sounds more important. I think ‘narrator’ sounds like a voiceover actor.”
Indeed, the term “narrator” doesn’t quite do justice to what intoxicated celebrities bring to the series, which returned to television Tuesday night after nearly 13 months off the air.
Tuesday’s “Drunk History Christmas Special” will be followed by the show’s full return on January 23. It’s been a long time since new “Drunk History” episodes premiered, something Waters (who co-created the show with Jeremy Konner) acknowledged. “If I was a fan, I’m thinking the show’s over,” he said. “‘I thought you were dead.’ But that’s better like that than people going,...

Over its six seasons, Glee has consistently proven that it can stick a landing, and the series finale was the absolute epitome of the scrappy musical dramedy's ability to obliterate the memory of the bumpy road behind with one revelatory moment of heart-pumping, tear-jerking, can't-stop-yourself-from-smiling, singing-and-dancing glory.
The series's two-hour finale appropriately ended with One Republic's anthemic feel-good tune "I Lived." Indeed, the show "did it all." It was, for better or (often) worse just as messy and ridiculous as life – but, in its best moments, also as uplifting and powerful.

We know it’s hard to believe, but the last episode of Glee ~*eVeR*~ airs tonight. The New Directions have given us an incredible six years of singing, dancing, and awkward teen sexual tension, but it’s time for them to leave the show choir room for good. Admittedly, the most recent seasons of Glee haven’t been that great (this season especially, with its self-referencing jokes and out-of-control fat-shaming). However, we can’t let Ryan Murphy’s inability to craft a third act stop us from honoring Glee. When it was good, it was really fucking good. And, more importantly, it changed culture forever.
From putting gay teens on primetime to introducing us to living Ken doll/actual sex god Darren Criss, Glee wasn’t afraid to go where television had never been before. It broke racial, sexual, and gender boundaries — not to mention it brought the musical back in a big way.

Needless to say, Becky's a little blown away by all the imagery."Where did you...

The night has finally arrived in tonight’s episode of “Glee,” appropriately titled “Opening Night” as Rachel Berry (Lea Michele) prepares to take the stage for the first time as Fanny Brice in the revival of Broadway’s “Funny Girl.” Rachel gets uncharacteristically nervous after reading some pre-mature negative comments about her portrayal as the classic character, and her nerves are displayed in a bizarre dream – bringing back McKinley favorites like Becky Jackson (Lauren Potter), Dave Karofsky (Max Adler) and Jacob Ben Israel (Josh Sussman) - where Rachel sings “Lovefool” by the Cardigans. She wakes up and Kurt (Chris Colfer) “unplugs” Rachel until after opening [...]

In Glee episode “New Directions,” it’s finally time to say goodbye to the glee club that brought them all together in the first place – and for some to join the others in New York City.
Glee Recap
Scheming in the staff lunchroom to keep the New Directions alive are April Rhodes (Kristen Chenoweth) and Holly Holiday (Gwyneth Paltrow). Holly, playing on Sue Sylvester’s (Jane Lynch) admiration for her, asks if there’s a way to weave music into some of the school’s other clubs. Sue doesn’t seem too into the idea, but allows for a trial run.
Walking through the halls of McKingley High, Tina Cohen Chang (Jenna Ushkowitz) is monologue-ing about her future. She, unlike the rest of the bunch, doesn’t really have any idea what’s next for her. She applied late to colleges, and hasn’t heard from safety school Ohio State.

This is not something we’ve ever seen ‘Glee’ do before — not that we’re complaining. When the episode began with Sue sharing that last year’s Christmas episode was never aired, so they were showing it now — what did you think of the season four episode smack in the middle of season five?
While Dec. 5 is a little early for a Christmas special, it was the perfect time for Glee to celebrate airing a never-before-season episode from season four. While the New Directions worked hard to reacreate the nativity scene, Rachel (Lea Michele), Kurt (Chris Colfer) and Santana (Naya Rivera) got jobs at a local mall . . . as elves.
‘Glee’ Returns To Season 4 For Christmas Special
Yes, it was just as weird as it sounds. Last year during Glee‘s holiday special, Kurt and Rachel were already in NYC, but she ended up heading on a cruise with her father.

It's not just about the music when "Glee" returns with "A Katy or a Gaga." The kids will channel Katy Perry and/or Lady Gaga as they try to find themselves. Crazy costumes and elaborate set pieces will of course be a part of this.
Photos from the episode are kind of incredible, even if it's not always obvious if Katy or Gaga is the theme.
For Sam's (Chord Overstreet) photo, he is almost definitely going the Gaga route.
The same can be said for Becky (Lauren Potter), wearing that funky nun costume Lady Gaga once wore.
Question: Isn't Becky off in reform school or something because of last season's gun incident? It's hard to remember that long-forgotten plot.
Also going Gaga is Artie (Kevin McHale).
Which singer is Blaine (Darren Criss) emulating? Just by default, it might be Katy Perry. It might not be.

"Glee" Season 5 has released its first footage in a promo video, and it does look interesting. With hosting duties carried mainly by Darren Criss (Blaine), the video gives us a look at Principal (?) Sue Sylvester, the future of Kurt and Blaine, and the need for two weeks of the Beatles.
No, this video doesn't mention Cory Monteith or episode 3, in which the show will have a memorial episode to the character of Finn Hudson. This is all about the Beatles and a happy return.
First of all, there is the big news: Sue Sylvester (Jane Lynch) is back at McKinley High School. And she's the principal? How does that work?
If you recall, Sue was fired close to the end of Season 4, when she claimed to have fired a gun on school grounds. She turned out to have been covering for Becky (Lauren Potter), but the act cost Coach Sylvester her job.

Kristin Chenoweth, Mark Salling and more of Cory’s fellow gleeks took to Twitter shortly after his death.
The entire world was stunned when news broke June 13 that Cory Monteith was found dead in a Vancouver hotel room — but few were as devastated, or more vocal, than the people who worked with Cory, 31, on his hit Fox series.
‘Glee’ Cast Reacts To Cory’s Death
Mark Salling, who plays the on-screen Bff to Cory’s Finn, tweeted the most knee-jerk response to Cory’s passing — a simple, and heartbreaking, “no” — but he deleted his tweet shortly after.
One of the most intense responses, due largely to her use of capital letters, came from Dot Marie Jones, who plays Coach Shannon Beiste:
I Have No Words! My Heart Is Broken Cory Was Not Only A Hell Of A Friend He Was One Amazing Men That I Will Hold Close To My Heart Forever.
