Thanks for taking the time to chat with us, Jason. You’ve been working on horror movies for a number of years. What was it about Unidentified that made you want to move forward with it as your directorial debut?
Jason R. Miller: Well, I felt it was time for me to branch out and direct something on my own instead of just producing and directing 2nd unit for other filmmakers. I had a completed script that I really wanted to make (and still do!), but I knew I wouldn’t get...

The latest yearly Halloween short from Adam Green and ArieScope Pictures has landed online today, and it takes the time to answer one of the horror's genre's most burning questions via deleted scene! You have Got to see this!
In John Carpenter’s 1978 classic Halloween, “Michael Myers” was suddenly able to drive a car after having sat in a sanitarium staring at the wall since childhood. While the filmmakers addressed this slight plot hole briefly in the original movie with a throwaway line by Donald Pleasence (“Maybe someone around here gave him lessons”), we here at ArieScope Pictures were fortunate enough to track down a never-before-seen deleted scene from Halloween that thoroughly explains what really happened. Our 14th annual Halloween short film parodies our favorite slasher film of all time and stars Joel David Moore (Avatar, Dodgeball) and Kane Hodder (Hatchet 1-3, Friday The 13th 7-10) as “Michael Myers”.

It’s Saturday night in Los Angeles and the smell of cheeseburgers and french fries is in the air. I’m in the world famous Jerry’s Deli and had the privilege of interviewing Jason R. Miller of ArieScope Pictures. Jason has had his hand in films like Hatchet, Frozen, Hatchet 2 and most recently Chillerama. Being a fan of all of those movies, I wanted to find out how he got involved in horror movies.
During my talk with Jason, I learned about how he made it to Los Angeles from Boston, how he got a job at ArieScope, and why John Landis of An American Werewolf in London fame is his mortal enemy. Sit back and relax, as we recant the blood, guts and duties of answering the phone for Adam Green at ArieScope Pictures.

Coverage of this year's Screamfest La Film Festival continues with Dread Central's event report for Thursday, October 20th, and Friday, October 21st, when we hit the carpet to bring you more photos and caught the premieres of Jack Heller’s feature film Enter Nowhere (Night #7) and of Ryan Schifrin’s No Rest for the Wicked, The Little Mermaid, Infected, and more. (Night #8).

This writer has been to the beloved New Beverly Cinema countless times over the last several years, but not for something nearly as cool as what I experienced last Wednesday night. Last week, the four masterminds behind the upcoming horror anthology Chillerama- Adam Green, Joe Lynch, Adam Rifkin and Tim Sullivan- all converged with their relative casts in tow to the revival theater to shoot the final scenes of the film.
Green explained the reasoning behind wanting to shoot at the New Beverly, a place I know that he and the other directors have spent countless nights at throughout the years. “The New Beverly is such a special, special place to all Los Angeles' cinefiles and most of the working genre directors have spent a lot of time there over the years. From the old grindhouse double features to the random midnight horror selections to my own ‘Evening...

ArieScope's Jason Richard Miller, who is known for his work on both of Adam Green's Hatchet films (Hatchet, Hatchet II, Frozen, and the forthcoming Chillerama, just sent us a pretty rad poster and first stills from his forthcoming short film, Infected. "Shelly can't escape the monster pursuing her, but when she fights back the real horror begins." It stars Hatchet II's Alexis Peters and Bloody Disgusting's Brian Collins (BC) as the Monster. With cameos from Aj Bown (A Horrible Way to Die, Hatchet II, The Signal, House of the Devil), Adam Green, and David Foy. Will Barratt is the Dp, Andy Garfield did sound and score and Robert Pendergraft & Aunt Dolly's Garage did the Creature & Make-Up FX.

ArieScope alumnus Jason Richard Miller has a new horror short film on the way starring a few very familiar faces to populate his latest landscape of badassery. Get ready to be Infected!
Miller, whom you may know for his work on Adam Rifkin's "Look" The Television Series, Adam Green's Hatchet series, Frozen, Chillerama, and more, is just about ready to deliver his second short film, which you can expect to be cruising the festival circuit in early 2011.
Infected stars Hatchet II's Alexis Peters alongside Bloody Disgusting's Brian Collins as the monster. In addition to them be on the lookout for special appearances by A.J. Bowen, Adam Green, and David Foy. Will Barratt is the director of photography with Andy Garfield handling sound and score and the deliciously loony Robert Pendergraft and Aunt Dolly's Garage doling out the creature F/X along with some violence. We like when Rob does that.

So earlier this evening we broke the news first that Adam Green's Hatchet II landed itself an unrated release with a major theater chain, and there's no doubt that this is huge news for both Dark Sky and the Hatchet Army. But for the lucky fans in attendance at the standing room only Hatchet II panel at the San Diego Comic-Con, more goods were on the way!
Green and company, including R.A. Mihailoff, Parry Shen, A.J. Bowen, Danielle Harris, Tom Holland, Kane Hodder, Rileah Vanderbilt, co-producer and second unit assistant director Jason Richard Miller, and creature and make-up effects supervisor Robert Pendergraft, had a real treat for the fans in attendance in the form of a boatload of footage and a death montage that left the room screaming.
The evening started off with a viewing of the film's badass new red band teaser trailer.
Let us warn you...
