Roku is making a franchise out of its original unscripted rom-com, Meet Me in Paris.
But instead of the Champs-Élysées or Luxembourg Gardens, the second Meet Me reality rom-com will see a new group of young women traveling to Rome in search of love. Production for the 90-minute film, Meet Me in Rome, is set to begin later this year and will debut at a later date on The Roku Channel.
Like Meet Me in Paris, Reese Witherspoon’s Hello Sunshine and Zoe Saldaña’s Cinestar Pictures will return to co-produce the film. Witherspoon, Saldaña, Sara Rea, Sue Kinkead, Cisely Saldaña, Mariel Saldaña and Angela Rae Berg will serve as executive producers.
“Meet Me in Paris was a dream to make,” Rea, who leads unscripted for Hello Sunshine, said. “We witnessed three exceptional women becoming dear friends as they searched for love in one of the most romantic cities in the world.

In an ultimate show-must-go-on moment in country music history, Wynonna Judd was not about to let the legacy of the Judds slip quietly into the sunset, rather than go out as spectacularly as intended, after her mother, Naomi Judd, died by suicide in April 2022. And so the Judds farewell tour that had been scheduled for last fall did proceed, against all probabilities, with a bevy of top stars trading places as Naomi’s stand-in each night. The emotional end of that road was captured for not just one but two new specials premiering on different Paramount platforms — “Wynonna Judd: Between Hell and Hallelujah,” a feature-length documentary that debuted Wednesday on Paramount+, and “The Judds: Love Is Alive — The Final Concert,” a two-hour performance special bowing tonight on CMT at 8 p.m. Et/Pt.

Beginning with the decision to honor her mother’s legacy by continuing on with “The Judds: The Final Tour,” “Wynonna Judd: Between Hell and Hallelujah” captures candid onstage and behind-the-scenes moments as part of the sold-out nationwide tour, along with personal anecdotes from Wynonna’s friends and fellow artists Ashley McBryde, Brandi Carlile, Faith Hill, Little Big Town, Kelsea Ballerini, Martina McBride and Trisha Yearwood. The film also includes moving and intimate footage of Wynonna spending quiet, reflective time on the farm with her beloved family and animals, as she continues to process her grief.

The upcoming Apple TV+ competition series “My Kind of Country,” executive-produced by Kacey Musgraves and Reese Witherspoon, is not just going to be a genre-specific knockoff of “American Idol” or “The Voice,” it’s clear from a first trailer released Friday. Fostering inclusiveness of every sort looks to be as high on the agenda as finding unknown talent, as is made apparent not just from the YouTube teaser but the previously known trio of celebrity talent scouts — Jimmie Allen, Mickey Guyton and Orville Peck — plus a just-released rundown of the dozen competing aspirants.
“The people that i love in country music, they don’t look like me,” one contestant, Camille Parker, a Black woman from North Carolina, is seen as saying. “I’m ready to show people what they’ve been missing.”

Apple TV+’s new music competition series “My Kind of Country” aims to change the perception of country music in a big way — and you can see a bit of that for yourself in the show’s trailer. Watch it at the top of the page, right now.
From executive producers Reese Witherspoon and country music star Kacey Musgraves, “My Kind of Country” features musicians from around the world who’ve been invited to Nashville, where they’ll compete to win what Apple TV+ vaguely refers to as “a life-changing experience from Apple, including global exposure across the Apple TV+ and Apple Music platforms.”
The series, Witherspoon says in the trailer, was conceived of while she and Musgraves were “talking about how country music should stop limiting people, and start opening doors.” And as part of that, the contestants will be mentored by three stars who themselves don’t fit...

Reese Witherspoon’s Hello Sunshine has launched an unscripted unit in the U.K.
The Candle Media-backed studio has appointed former Channel 4 head of features and formats Sarah Lazenby to lead the division as executive VP of unscripted U.K. She will report into Hello Sunshine’s head of unscripted Sara Rea, who joined the studio following the acquisition of her company Skr Productions.
As part of the expansion, Hello Sunshine Unscripted U.K. is currently developing its first production with “It’s a Sin” broadcaster Channel 4.

Amazon’s fashion design competition “Making the Cut” has enlisted designer Jeremy Scott and “America’s Next Top Model” alum Winnie Harlow as judges for Season 2, the streamer announced Tuesday.
The duo will join hosts Tim Gunn and Heidi Klum on the season as permanent judges, replacing the judging panel of Season 1, which featured the likes of Naomi Campbell, Nicole Richie, fashion blogger Chiara Ferragni, former Vogue Paris editor-in-chief Carine Roitfeld and designer Joseph Altuzarra.
In another change from last season, the new set of episodes were filmed entirely in Los Angeles under Covid-19 safety protocols, rather than showcasing an around-the-world tour of international fashion hubs.
“I am so excited to be in my hometown of Los Angeles with such a talented group of designers and judges for season two,” Klum said in a statement. “This last year brought so many unforeseen challenges across the globe, so I feel grateful that...

Amazon Studio’s fashion competition series “Making the Cut,” hosted and executive produced by Heidi Klum and Tim Gunn, is officially coming back for a second season. And this time around, supermodel Winnie Harlow and Moschino creative director Jeremy Scott are joining the judging panel.
Season 2 of the unscripted fashion series, which pits 10 international designers and entrepreneurs against each other for $1 million and an Amazon Fashion mentorship, premieres on the streaming service this summer.
While the first season jetted contestants from New York City to Paris to Tokyo and back, this year’s “Making the Cut” competition was filmed entirely in Los Angeles amid the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. Winners of each episode will again have their winning designs immediately sold on Amazon, an e-commerce-television hybrid that marked a unique internal crossover on the Seattle tech giant’s massive platforms.
