Parisa Gorgin, an Iranian writer and director, has worked for nearly 20 years in more than 30 professional film projects as a planner, first assistant director, and script supervisor. Being top of her class, she began her career immediately after gaining her B.A in Directing with the recommendation of one of her professors. Her perseverance, responsibility, professionalism, and precision led her to get recruited for other projects. Parisa has worked with some acclaimed Iranian directors such as Bahman Farmanara, Spideh Farsi, Mahmoud Kalari, and Asghar Farhadi, with whom she collaborated on two projects, "The Salesman" as the script supervisor, and "A Hero" as the planner. The former has won an Oscar trophy in the Best Foreign Language Film category. And she attended in Cannes film festival with the mentioned films in 2016, and 2021, respectively. After ten years of working in movies and series, she debuted her directing career with the short film "Beginning of Spring, Near the End of Winter" in 2007. She has made six short films, one telefilm, and one documentary, and has participated in national and international film festivals and won some awards.
As an Iranian woman who has struggled with women's issues in her life, presenting these issues has become the main theme of her movies. Parisa has always tried to experience different platforms to be their voice from documentary filmmaking to mainstream cinema. Furthermore, she tries to reflect the contemporary social challenges of her homeland in her movies.
