Dave Dexter Jr., born 1915 in Kansas City, Missouri, USA, was a music journalist, record company executive, and producer long associated with Capitol Records. He worked with many important figures in jazz and popular music, including Count Basie, Peggy Lee, Duke Ellington, and Frank Sinatra. Dexter also composed jazz tunes, most of which were released under pseudonyms like Bobby Black and Red Burns. He died 11 April, 1990 in Sherman Oaks, California, USA.
