Bruce Willis has indeed left the cast of Woody Allen’s upcoming film, but not for the reasons that we initially thought. While early reports indicated that Willis departed from the project as a result of scheduling conflicts with his participation in an adaptation of Stephen King’s Misery on Broadway, it has now come to light that director Woody Allen may have in fact fired the Die Hard star. According to Hitfix, this news comes based off a Twitter excange between The Wrap’s Jeff Sneider and Tom O'Leary, which indicates Willis experienced immense difficulty delivering his lines. This trouble impeded production and caused excess stress on cast and crew members. @TheInSneider Yep. Fired. A friend is on the film. Bruce couldn't remember a line. Cue cards were no help. Cast were losing their minds. — Tom O'Leary (@TomOLeary4) ...

Bruce Willis has exited the Woody Allen film he was attached to and reports indicate that the prolific director may have fired him. There are some conflicting messages. Deadline initially reported that Willis left the film due to a scheduling conflict with his Broadway adaptation of Stephen King’s Misery. However, The Wrap’s Jeff Sneider tweeted that Willis was in fact fired. As Vulture points out, the actor was seen on set yesterday, in front of a camera, in costume, and by all appearances working with Jesse Eisenberg. He’d likely have known if there was a a legitimate scheduling conflict ahead of the start of production. It’s unclear why Willis was fired -- if he was -- but in response to Sneider's initial tweet Tom O’Leary said, ”Yep. Fired. A friend is on the film. Bruce couldn't remember a line. Cue cards were no help. Cast were losing their minds.
