For the group’s 25th anniversary, Little Big Town is pouring some sugar on it. Some Sugarland, actually, as the two country groups will be spending some quality time together later this year, in the wake of their joint performance Sunday night on the CMT Music Awards, where they hooked up to sing their newly arranged cover of Phil Collins’ 1985 smash “Take Me Home.”
The day after the meeting of the vocal-group titans on the CBS awards telecast, Lbt and Sugarland have released a studio version of the Collins tune they performed live, along with announcing a joint tour in the fall that will see them hit the road together for 18 dates. The tour starts Oct. 24 in Greenville, Sc and wraps Dec. 13 with a hometown show at Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena.

Shucked, the pun-filled, corn-fed comedy that surprised critics (favorably) and early on seemed destined to become a sleeper hit, will play its final performance at Broadway’s Nederlander Theatre on Sunday, January 14, 2024, producers have announced.
Shucked, which received nine Tony Award nominations last spring and eventually won one (for featured actor Alex Newell), began previews March 8 and opened April 4. When it closed on January 14, it will have played 28 preview performances and 327 regular performances.
Producers Mike Bosner and Jason Owen announced the closing. The musical will begin a North American tour in Fall 2024, with productions planned for London’s West End (at the Cameron Mackintosh Theater beginning winter 2025) and Sydney, Australia, (Spring 2026 with producing partner Suzanne Jones).
Producers reportedly have floated the idea of finding another Broadway venue after the show vacates the Nederlander, but finding a house in what looks to be a crowded Spring season will be tough. Still,...

In an ultimate show-must-go-on moment in country music history, Wynonna Judd was not about to let the legacy of the Judds slip quietly into the sunset, rather than go out as spectacularly as intended, after her mother, Naomi Judd, died by suicide in April 2022. And so the Judds farewell tour that had been scheduled for last fall did proceed, against all probabilities, with a bevy of top stars trading places as Naomi’s stand-in each night. The emotional end of that road was captured for not just one but two new specials premiering on different Paramount platforms — “Wynonna Judd: Between Hell and Hallelujah,” a feature-length documentary that debuted Wednesday on Paramount+, and “The Judds: Love Is Alive — The Final Concert,” a two-hour performance special bowing tonight on CMT at 8 p.m. Et/Pt.

Grammy, ACM, CMA, Ama and Emmy Award-winning group, Little Big Town’s latest music video for their song “Rich Man” is available everywhere now, after making its Facebook world premiere. Off their 10th studio album, Mr. Sun, “Rich Man” was written by Lbt’s Jimi Westbrook over the course of the last decade. The video features Charles Esten, who plays the central role of a father in the emotionally poignant video.
Produced and filmed by Running Bear Films in Nashville, Tn, the video is a nostalgic film which pays homage to good men, hardworking people, and loving families everywhere. It tells the story of a young boy and his relationship with his father (Esten) over the course of time. Interwoven with a performance by Little Big Town, the video ends with a beautifully fitting twist: Westbrook himself playing the older grown-up version of the little boy.

Though vocal groups are a longstanding tradition in country music, the quartet Little Big Town have been compared to Fleetwood Mac just as often as they’ve been compared to the Oak Ridge Boys. That’s due in part to their mix of male and female voices, as well as the way they’ve largely favored folk-rock arrangements over honky-tonk and country shuffles.

On April 18, the Recording Academy will celebrate 20 years of advocacy in Washington, D.C., by honoring Karen Fairchild, Kimberly Schlapman, Phillip Sweet, and Jimi Westbrook of three-time Grammy winners Little Big Town at the annual GRAMMYs on the Hill Awards.
Little Big Town’s contributions to the music industry align with some of the Recording Academy’s key advocacy and organizational causes, including advocating for music education and supporting MusiCares, a charity founded by the Academy that provides a safety net of support for the music community. The evening will also feature a performance by the band.
Uniting the worlds of music and politics, GRAMMYs on the Hill also recognizes legislators who have improved the environment for music by advocating for music creators’ rights. This year's American Music Awards featured some of the most amazing, gravity-defying, crowd-pleasing performances you could ever hope for -- but it also had its share of awkward presenters and bizarre celebrities acting like weirdos.
From Tracee Ellis Ross' masterful turn as the night's host to Pink's sky-high performance of "Beautiful Trauma" and the adorable tribute to the iconic Diana Ross, the show was packed with sweet, funny moments.
However, for every number that started with a powerful female artist telling off her haters, there was a number that featured Nick Jonas being groped by mysterious ghost hands.
For some of the 2017 AMAs' highlights and low points, here's our round-up of the best, worst and downright weirdest moments of the night.

Taylor Swift is cheering Little Big Town from afar!
Her tune “Better Man”—which she wrote for Lbt—was named song of the year at the 51st annual Country Music Association Awards on Wednesday night.
Presented by Swift’s friend Karlie Kloss, Little Big Town accepted the honor on behalf of Swift, who couldn’t attend the event due to scheduling conflicts.
“We didn’t write this,” Karen Fairchild said onstage. “We’re really grateful that Philip checked his email one night and that song was in his email. We want to say thanks to Taylor Swift. She couldn’t be here tonight with us.

It was, said Little Big Town’s Kimberly Schlapman, “an emotional day” for her group – an understatement, to be sure.
First, the Grammy Award-winning quartet offered a wrenching performance of the national anthem at the funeral Thursday of fellow Grand Ole Opry member Troy Gentry, who died last week in a helicopter accident. And now, less than four hours later, here they were in a park in downtown Nashville, accepting one of the city’s highest honors: a star on the Music City Walk of Fame.

Performances Dazzle in Tributes to Reba McEntire, Dolly Parton, and George Strait on Acm Honors Show
Tears flow for Reba McEntire and Kelsea Ballerini. Maren Morris delivers a moving – and gender-bending – reading of a Glen Campbell classic. And Chris Janson runs on super octane performing one of rock’s quirkiest songs.
The Acm Honors awards show holds no suspense: The winners have already been announced. But the show, which airs Friday on CBS, is packed with emotional power and musical highs. The 11th annual show, which was taped Aug. 23 in Nashville’s Ryman Auditorium, pays tribute to specific achievements in country music, and a stellar lineup has shown up for the celebration.

George Strait, Reba McEntire, Jason Aldean, Kelsea Ballerini and 17 other stars were all in their places, ready to have their photo taken. So what was the holdup? Just like the country song says, they were waitin’ on a woman – and this woman was worth the wait.
Suddenly, a vision in pink sequins floated into the room, and the room erupted in whoops and cheers. Let’s face it: No one quite knows how to make an entrance like Dolly Parton. Sidling up to Strait, she dropped an elbow on his shoulder – why would Strait mind? – and soon the camera’s flash was popping.

Four full nights of concerts, 24 must-see performers and a staggering 137 songs: Take pity on the video editors who had to whittle all this down into a three-hour ABC special.

"We write a lot of songs while we're drinking wine – so it’s a tax write-off, maybe?"
Little Big Town's Karen Fairchild is explaining the origins of the band’s new Four Cellars wine club over a glass of chardonnay in a private back room at Nashville's The Thompson hotel. In a few minutes, we'll launch into a boozy, hilarious game of "Never Have I Ever" – but first, we talk shop.
Produced in partnership with the Browne Family Vineyards in Walla Walla, Washington, Lbt is kicking off its Four Cellars collection (named for, you guessed it, the four members of the band) with a chardonnay and a red blend. In addition to being poured at select venues in Nashville – including The Ryman Auditorium, where the band currently holds residency – it’s also the "very sophisticated, but super easy to drink" anchor of a wine club experience.
