Aaron Lazar is replacing Steven Pasquale as Reverend Paul Luke Thomas on Fox’s upcoming Kim Cattrall-led Southern drama, “Filthy Rich,” in the second recasting for that co-star role.
The part was played by David Denman on the pilot of the series, a family drama from “Ma” filmmaker Tate Taylor “in which wealth, power and religion collide – with outrageously soapy results.” The show is slated to debut at midseason on the broadcast network.
A Fox spokesperson confirmed Lazar’s casting to TheWrap, saying Pasquale left the project a week before the start of production Friday in New Orleans, citing personal reasons, not creative ones.

The New Fox is piling on the drama.
The broadcaster has issued its fifth order for a drama series, this time for “Filthy Rich,” a southern Gothic family drama which hails from “Girl on the Train” and “The Help” director Tate Taylor.
It’s understood that Fox had been keen to pick up the project earlier this week, however, Taylor’s schedule proved a stumbling block. The director is due to shoot a movie this summer which would have prevented him from overseeing the writers room.
The new one-hour drama centers around the aftermath of a plane crash which kills the patriarch of a mega-rich Southern family, famed for creating a wildly successful Christian television network. After his death, his wife and family are stunned to learn that he fathered three illegitimate children, all of whom are written into his will, threatening their family name and fortune.

Fox has ordered its fifth drama series for the 2019-20 season. The network has picked up Filthy Rich, a soapy drama from The Help writer-director Tate Taylor, Imagine Television and 20th Century Fox TV, with Kim Cattrall to star and produce.
Filthy Rich, which is being eyed as a companion for hip-hop family drama Empire, was one of five Fox drama pilots which generated strong buzz consistently throughout the pilot process. The other four, Prodigal Son, NeXt, Deputy and Untitled Annie Wiseman/Jason Katims, were picked up to series on Thursday.
As we reported at the time, the reason Filthy Rich, which co-stars Gerald McRaney, was not picked up to series with its peers was that details were still being worked out. They had to do with writer/director/exec producer’s Taylor availability as his film schedule may not allow for the series to be ready for fall.

This year we'll see Blake Lively stay perpetually young in The Age of Adaline, and Jason Clarke fight and army of machines in Terminator: Genisys. And next, the two will unite for something completely different for both of them. Deadline reports Lively and Clarke will star in All I See is You, a new psychological drama from World War Z and Quantum of Solace director Marc Forster. The filmmaker also wrote the script with Sean Conway and will produce along with Michael Shelby and Sc International Pictures along with Ron Perlman, by way of his own Wing and a Prayer productions, Jillian Kugler and Brian Wilkins. The story certainly sounds intriguing as it follows a blind woman and her husband who upon restoration of her sight begins to discover previously unseen and disturbing details about themselves, their marriage and their lives. That's a fairly vague conflict, but maybe it become a bit of a thriller?...

Big news today: We’re excited to announce Amazon Studios’ third pilot season, beginning August 28th and featuring three half hour comedies The Cosmopolitans, Really and Red Oaks, and two hour-long dramatic thrillers Hand of God and Hysteria. For one month, it will be up to you to watch, rate and comment – ultimately helping us decide which of them get the greenlight.
“There is something for everyone in this season,” says Roy Price, Director of Amazon Studios. The glamorous life of modern day expats in Paris. The hijinks of a summer job at a country club in 1980s New Jersey. The visions of a vigilante judge who appears to be channeling God. The complexities of marriage and friendship among a circle of friends in suburban Chicago. And the mysteries behind a psycho-physiological illness spreading through a small town in Texas.
You can help choose which of these stories should get “picked up” to become shows.
