With 18 years of career dedicated to the movie industry, Heitor Cavalheiro has crossed through several areas of the creative and technical fields of the industry on more than 100 projects. The wide experience and understanding of the process led him to the Direction and the Cinematography, where he develops his current work. In one of his first jobs in the camera department, Heitor was invited to be one of the Cinematographers of the Orient Expedition, from the Schurmann Family, in which had the opportunity to make a complete circumnavigation of the globe on a sailboat while filming the culture and life of the people from the 55 stops of route, in 5 continents, throughout two and a half years in production to the National Geographic Chanel and the TV Globo from Brazil.
Henceforth immersed in the world of the documentaries, Heitor was the Director and DoP of an Expedition Tracking the Araguaia River, in Brazil, has been twice to Antarctica filming, have directed series and documentaries for most of the majors channels in Brazil and across the globe filming allover the world.
In the scripted side of the work a highlight is Heitor's Direction of Photography on the short movies Fly A Way In LA, filmed in Los Angeles and screened in the NYLA International Film Festival and a diversity of video clips for some of the most important Brazilian artists of the actuality. In another side of the craft, Heitor have shot a variety of short films along the years, and after his debut on the direction of photography of his first feature film, with great success and recognition, Heitor has already concluded his fifth feature film with productions in Brazil and the USA.
For his work as Director and Cinematographer, Heitor has been recognized and awarded in festivals from France, Brazil, India and Romania.
