Fernando is a Performer and Theatre Maker specialized in Music Theatre, and is currently developing groundbreaking work in in Opera, Theatre and Cinema.
He trained London at The Urdang Academy in Dance and Musical Theatre and at Central School of Speech and Drama in Theatre Making. In Portugal he trained in Acting at ACE, and in Classical Ballet at Centro de Dança do Porto.
Some of his professional credits includes;
the musicals Rent as Angel , Saturday Night Fever as Gus, Little Shop of Horrors as Audrey II , Rocky Horror Show as Frank'n'Furter, The Wizard of Oz as Ensemble and Flashdance in which he played the role of Carlos .
the plays Simon Stephen's Punk Rock as Bennett , Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream As Puck and 4.48 Psychosis as Sarah's AlterEgo.
His West End credits include seven productions at The Royal Opera House, including Mozart's Die Zauberflöte, directed by David McVicar and Verdi's Nabucco starring Plácido Domingo. In Opera Fernando Mariano also worked with Penny Woolcock in her production, The Pearl Fishers produced by the English National Opera.
In Film Fernando Mariano collaborated with the director Simone Yang, in As Sardines in the Deep Ocean, played Eco in Tebas, a feature film directed by Rodrigo Areias, and starred as Manny in the Bright West Pictures production Saving Fangio.
Fernando is also Artistic Director and founder of (Un)Finished Works, a Production Company specialized in Interactive Art.
