Last week, we heard that Shawnee Smith is considering reprising the role of Amanda Young in the latest Saw sequel – which we’re referring to as Saw X, since it’s the tenth film in that franchise. Amanda previously appeared in Saw, Saw II, Saw III, and Saw VI. But, as it turns out, there’s a bit of a scheduling issue here. Saw X is filming in Mexico City, and at the same time Smith is busy working on a different horror project in Connecticut. Deadline revealed that the horror movie Smith is currently working on is called The Skulleton.

Two-time Oscar nominee Bruce Dern (The Hateful Eight), Tyrese Gibson (Fast & Furious franchise), Shawnee Smith (Saw franchise), and Taryn Manning (Orange is the New Black) have signed on to horror film, The Skulleton.
Written by Anthony and James Gaudioso (Mid-Century), and directed by Ante Novakovic (Sanctioning Evil), the film will follow Moira Cole (Smith) who attempts to move on with her shattered life after the brutal murder of her friends and family at the hands of her deranged and obsessed cousin, Lee Morris. Expanding Los Angeles-based distributor Safier Entertainment has acquired worldwide rights to the comedic holiday feature “Christmas Vs. the Walters” out of the Cannes Film Market.
The ensemble film is led by Oscar nominee Bruce Dern, “30 Rock” regular and “Oz” actor Dean Winters, “Saw” franchise star Shawnee Smith and Emmy-winning “Schitt’s Creek” star Chris Elliott.
Promised a wide theatrical release on Nov. 5 before heading to paid VOD and digital sell-through, the film is directed by genre helmer Peter D’Amato. He penned the script with Ante Novakovic.
“Christmas Vs. the Walters” sees Smith as the perfectionist expectant mother Diane Walters, who spends each year planning the ideal Christmas holiday. When her husband is taken out of town on business and her eccentric doctor confines her to bed rest, she races against the clock to craft another memorable celebration.
D’Amato and Novakovic also serve as producers with Rob Simmons of Jars Media Group...
