South By Southwest (SXSW) has officially announced the lineup for SXSW Comedy, which will take place from March 10 - 17 in Austin, Texas. The festival's comedy programming has grown considerably since last year, with showcases, live podcast tapings and interactive shows stretching continuously throughout SXSW for the first time. The festival has announced 62 comedians scheduled to appear, nearly doubling last year's roster of performers.
Although SXSW is known for its music, film, and more recently, interactive portions of the festival, the comedy programming looks designed to delight both devoted comedy fans as well as casual observers. In fact, five of the comedians who landed on HuffPost Comedy's favorite comedy albums of 2011 list will be performing at the festival.
Part of the fun of SXSW Comedy is not knowing which performers will show up at which shows, although a full list of confirmed comedians has been released (and can be found in...

Ryan Stout gives a coy voice to perverse thoughts, a combination that sometimes creates an ideal tension and sometimes just sits uneasily. Maybe that’s the point: On his first stand-up album, Touché, Stout invites the audience to share his bipolar self-awareness, frequently stopping to annotate bits he’s just performed, a habit that saps momentum but keeps the crowd just off-balance enough for the next sick joke. He has plenty of amusingly foul takeaway sentiments—“Look how confident prostitutes are. Don’t you want that for your kids?”—and he’s capable of using his faux-innocent guile to inch ...

Tonight is the last Pajiba After Dark of Shark Week, and there are indeed two new Shark Week shows on Discovery tonight! Yay! There is also, however, the first episode of the fourth season of "Jersey Shore" which is another show in serious need of a Shark Week crossover event. Gym, tan, laundry? How about gym, tan, Oh My God That Hurts Let It Go Let It Go Letitgo!!!! And yeah, I know this season's set in Florence and not anywhere actually shore adjacent but I'm certain you could get sharks up the Arno river if you really wanted to. Here's your Thursday night TV:

Tonight, Discovery seems to be airing a non-Shark Week themed show since "One Man Army" is airing at its usual time. I've checked the episode description and nowhere does it mention Anything about sharks so that's frustrating and confusing. They've managed to make episodes of "Mythbusters" and "Dirty Jobs" that were Shark Week themed so I don't know why they can't just do that for all shows that air during Shark Week. And since the same company owns TLC and Discovery channel maybe they could send a few sharks over to "Toddlers and Tiaras" to get these parents to have a little perspective. "What's that? Your little girl doesn't like it when you bleach her hair because it burns? That's a shame. We've got someone to help you deal with those feelings. Actually, several someones. Or somethings. We call the big one Bitey." Here's your Wednesday night TV:

Some good news on television tonight; "White Collar" comes back and I know at least a couple of you enjoy having that show around, the cast of "Modern Family" will be on "Inside the Actor's Studio," plus it's the fourth game of the NBA finals! Yay, basketball! But there's also the return of the Duggars (just typing that kind of makes me want to dry heave) and she who shall not be accurately named is on Jimmy Kimmel's talk show. I'm pretty sure there's other things going on with the world, but yesterday and today I've been doing something that basically keeps me cut off from the world for the entire day and when I get home I'm too tired to notice all but the important stuff. Apparently people are angry at that Congressman because he sent a picture of his underwear to an unsuspecting lady? Color me jaded,...

There are certain shows that I wish weren't on the air not because I have any informed opinions about them, but because their mere existence makes me aware of certain things I'd rather forget about. Like the "Only in America with Larry the Cable Guy" show. Not only am I forced to confront the existence of Larry the Cable Guy every time I write about it, but I am forced to also confront the man's baffling, nearly inexplicable continued success. Today I found myself wondering if he had ever even really worked as a cable guy and I wanted to punch my brain while yelling "Not The Point!!!" at it. I'd leave it off, but then one of you might turn on the History channel this evening hoping for some good rehashing of how killing Nazis is awesome and then you'd see that and be all "Why, Intern Rusty, why have you forsaken me?...

There's a lot of fans here of Monday night's A&E line up (also referred to as "Misery Night" for the fact that it focuses on addicts, hoarders, and people whose weight has caused them significant health problems) but tonight it's just... way darker than usual. We've got an investigation into Oxycotin abuse and the new "Relapse" show which shows what happens when things like "Intervention" don't stick. Does not sound like good times to me, but there's only so much actual misery I can take before I curl up into a ball on my sofa and start whimpering. For those few of you out there who are emotional masochists and will be watching, I salute you. Here's your Monday night TV:
8:00pm: "Antiques Roadshow" on PBS
"Chuck" on NBC
"Dancing With the Stars" on ABC
"House" on Fox. 150th episode.

Obviously the big news today is that there was a football game played yesterday and this one team won it and the other team lost. And that all the performers seemed to be on a mission to out-do each other in the field of embarrassing moments in front of the nation. It just got worse as the night went on, to the point where it was almost funny if it hadn't been so painful. In my opinion, the whole mess probably wasn't worth the hangover some of y'all are sporting today, although I wasn't around for the live chat so maybe that part was. But that's all in the past and right now we're looking to the future. Specifically, to the immediate future involving what's on television tonight. Here's your Monday night TV:
7:00pm: "Inside the Actor's Studio" on Bravo. Guest this week is the always appreciated Colin Firth...

The run up to "Black Friday" has started, which this year includes a lot of advertising of "Black Friday Prices Now!" stuff and I just... bleh. This is the part of American Christmas that makes me want to give all the money I'd put towards presents to Heifer International and Donors Choose and give my loved ones a card that says "For Christmas this year I bought someone a cow and gave a fourth grade class a set of textbooks. Happy freaking Holidays." I understand that people want to save money and there are some good deals available but if I'm standing outside a store in freezing cold weather at some ridiculous goddamn hour of the morning, I'd better be getting a TV for free when I walk in. But I say that as someone who hates cold and mornings. And crowds. And useless shiny crap. This really isn't my season.

I got a higher than average number of propositions last night both in real life and on Pajiba. I know why I did in real life, I was walking around dressed as Leeloo from "The Fifth Element" which is a costume that could most appropriately be referred to as "nerd bait" (Not that that's a bad thing) but I am a little bewildered as to why I all of a sudden got them over here. Any explanation would be appreciated, and that's the extent of my intro because I'm still waiting for the Advil to kick in. Here's your Monday night TV:
7:30pm: "World Series Game #5" on Fox
8:00pm: "90210" on The CW
"Chuck" on NBC
"Dancing With the Stars" on ABC. It's the 200th episode of this show. I'm just going to let you all think about that for a couple minutes.
