Dermot O'Leary's decision to ditch his wacky opening dance routines and replace them with an air golf swing with his microphone is symbolic of this year's decision from X Factor producers to strip back the silliness.
There is no Rylan this year. There is no Wagner or Jedward. The closest thing we had was a plump lady from the West Country, but she's been given the boot now. Dermot's dance has been ditched. And even Louis Walsh opted to save the right act on Sunday night, rescuing boyband Kingsland Road over the aforementioned Devon diva.

Watching the judges reveal their choices, it felt like a perfect opportunity for Louis and the producers to shake up a series that so far has steered clear of scandal and mock outrage. He could have saved Shelley, sent home the boys and ignited a grumpy,...

X Factor hopeful John Adeleye was seen impressing Sharon Osbourne with his judges houses performance tonight.
The hopeful hasn’t been featured much in previous shows and speaking at Louis Walsh’s Irish castle location, John admitted that he lives to sing.
He said:
“I love working where I work but ultimately I want a career in music. I’ve been waiting quite a while for this, this chance, this opportunity, and I’m not going to let it pass me by. I’ve got to give my all to this, I’ve got to sing my heart out and just be me.”
John then sang So Freakin’ Bad for the pair and we Loved his quirky style. He should so make the live shows!
Judges Comments:
Sharon: He’s really, really likeable.
Louis: Yes. He didn’t stand out on the auditions; he was just a good singer.

Cocaine can make a person do strange things, like date Peaches Geldof, or cause them to post and delete nasty letters to people on MySpace. Eli Roth is guilty of all of the above. Roth, who is dating the United Kingdom's verison of Paris Hilton, took to his MySpace (protip: It's 2010 nobody uses MySpace anymore!) to defend his precious Peaches, after Ben Mills aka Thatcoolguyben posted an unflattering story and some nude pictures (link nsfw) of her on Reddit. Taking a page from Brad Miska's playbook, Roth busted out the Vagisil and wrote a whiney letter to Ben's mother! Here it is! (This is a good one, you should really follow all the links for the full story!)...

Last week a bona fide web scandal broke in the English newspapers that raises some big questions about what we are telling our children about the dangers of the web. The daughter of Sir Bob Geldof, the pop star who pioneered Live Aid and invented the modern mega charity event, was compromised by some photos which appeared on the web. An ex lover, 23-year-old artist Ben Mills, posted naked photos of Peaches Geldof online and told the world they were taken during a heroin-fueled sex session in Los Angeles late November. The images showed the 21-year-old bleary eyed, posing in a pair of black knickers with a blond-haired companion. You can see the pictures here. Embarrassed by the lewd images, bosses at the Ultimo lingerie company have decided Geldof can no longer be the face of their underwear line....

X Factor series three star Ben Mills has revealed that he is planning to open a sanctuary for the ITV1 show's contestants. The singer, who finished third in the 2006 series behind Leona Lewis and Ray Quinn, said that he is working on a "ten-year plan" with his wife for setting up the music rehab centre. "What I really want to do is set up a recording studio with my wife. It sounds a bit crazy, but she is training to be a counsellor and I want us to set up a sanctuary place," he told Digital Spy. "It would be somewhere that people who have been on a show like X Factor could come, or anyone in fact, and spend a week making music. Former X Factor contestant Ben Mills has revealed that the show's producers turned down the chance to have Bon Jovi as guests on the programme three years ago. Mills said that Mark Hudson, Sharon Osbourne's co-mentor on the show, had offered to get the group to perform in 2006. "When I was on X Factor, Mark Hudson, who is great friends with Bon Jovi, offered the producers the chance to have them on," the singer told Digital Spy. "The (more)...
