The latest documentary about Billy McFarland — whose disastrous Fyre Festival ended in a felony conviction — is moving forward despite a threat from the Bahamian government.
Ample Entertainment is producing the doc, After the Fyre, which also hails from Fremantle. The project, at the time of announcement, was described as following McFarland as he returns to the Bahamas for his post-prison business venture, a treasure hunt, in an attempt at restitution of the 26 million dollars he owes to Fyre investors and attendees, among other parties.
In late October, McFarland began posting about the treasure hunt, known as Pyrt, on his social media channels. But a letter this week from the Bahamian office of tourism, which is essentially barring McFarland from travel to the country, said that McFarland is considered to be “fugitive” with standing complaints at the Royal Bahamas Police Force. “Anyone knowing of...

Exclusive: Courteney Cox is looking for a new home for her pregnancy docuseries 9 Months.
The Friends star and producer Ample Entertainment is shopping the unscripted series to other buyers after Facebook Watch didn’t pick up a fourth season.
It comes less than a week after the series scooped a Daytime Emmy nomination for the series in the Outstanding Short Form Daytime category.
The series, which launched in January 2019, looks at a broad range of Americans as they self-document their 9-month journey of pregnancy. Cox narrates and provides commentary on the series, which has featured stories such as a cancer-stricken mother to pregnant teenagers considering adoption.
It’s been a busy period for Cox; her Starz horror comedy series Shining Vale, which wrapped its first season last month, has been picked up for a second season and she recently starred in the latest Scream film.
Ample Entertainment, similarly, has been on a tear.

Exclusive: HBO’s latest documentary series The Invisible Pilot tells the story of a charismatic, daredevil husband and father who unexpectedly jumped off a bridge in 1977, despite a seemingly happy home life and a lucrative career as a pilot.
As you can see from the trailer above, the series delves into subjects such as international drug smuggling and a covert war conducted at the highest level of the U.S. government.

Discovery Channel has given the green light to a second season of docuseries Cooper’s Treasure, from Ample Entertainment and Amblin Television, set for premiere this summer.
In Season 2, treasure hunter Darrell Miklos heads to the Bahamas to track down the whereabouts of 11 wreck sites that Nasa astronaut Gordon Cooper had found and catalogued as having tons of silver, gold and other priceless treasures. Cooper created the treasure map in secret over 50 years ago and shared it with his long-time friend Miklos before Cooper’s passing, in hopes his exploration would continue, and ultimately uncover treasures of the old world. Cooper discovered troves of information about what lies on Earth’s sea floors while orbiting the planet in the 1960s.
Last season, Miklos located a shipwreck tied to Christopher Columbus using Cooper’s intel. But within hours of finding the wreckage, a rival treasure hunter made a competing claim and...

About 10 months after her teenage nephew Jeremiah Pittman vanished in North Carolina, 25-year-old Zilphia Lowery also disappeared — and then, like Pittman, she turned up dead.
Were the slayings connected?
Authorities looked into that question while investigating both homicides, Upi reports. The cases will be spotlighted in a Thursday night episode of A&E’s Cold Case Files.
As one investigator explains in an exclusive clip, “We had two people in the same family, in the same year, go missing. … These cases either have to be related or it is a real coincidence.”
While law enforcement reportedly probed the possibility that Lowery and Pittman,...

In September 1999, 17-year-old Jessica Dishon apparently vanished from the driveway of her family’s home in Sheperdsville, Kentucky, and left only a few things behind in her car: a shoe, her purse, her backpack and her cell phone — with the number “9” dialed.
Dishon’s body was reportedly found more than two weeks later at a nearby dumping ground. Authorities said she had been beaten, strangled and “violently sexually assaulted,” according to the Louisville Courier-Journal.
Though a neighbor was identified as a suspect and charged in her death, a judge declared a mistrial and the charge was later dismissed, the Courier-Journal reports.

According to the Deseret News, customers at the gas station that morning described encountering an apparent station attendant around the time of Perry’s death — a man who gave them gas and sold them cigarettes.
But one of the dollar bills he gave them as change had blood on it, the News reported. The pair of customers drove to the police,...

“At their funeral, I laid my hand on their casket and I said, ‘I will find out who did this,’ ” Hadaller later said, according to ABC News.
Nearly 30 years after his parents — Edward “Ed” and Wilhelmina “Minnie” Maurin — were killed, Hadaller got justice: In 2012, police announced the arrest of the killer, Ricky Riffe, who remains behind bars after being convicted of murder in 2013, according to The Chronicle. (Riffe’s long-suspected accomplice, his brother, died before he could be charged.)
