Bernie Goldmann will produce through his Goldmann Pictures alongside Le Vision Pictures CEO Zhang Zhao.
Zodiac follows a group of international peacekeepers inspired by the 12 Chinese signs of the zodiac.
“Zodiac is the perfect addition to our slate as it encompasses everything we look for in our projects – four-quadrant global tent poles with franchise potential,” said Zhao. “We look forward to collaborating with Bernie and advancing our relationship with future partnerships.”

A Chinese producer is looking to create "an action movie only for Chinese audiences" with British action hero Jason Statham in the lead role.
Statham is currently on tour in China to promote "The Expendables 3" and says he has been wanting to do a movie in China for over a decade since he worked with Chinese actress Shu Qi and Hong Kong director Corey Yuen on 2002's "The Transporter". He tells The Global Times:
"We [Qi and Yuen] shared a lot of interests and tastes in films. I had this idea, but for years I still haven't fulfilled it. The key is finding the right project with the right person."
Zhang Zhao, CEO of Le Vision Pictures and a producer on both "Expendables" sequels, said his company is working with Statham to do just that, however he didn't go into any further details.

Statham is currently on tour in China to promote "The Expendables 3" and says he has been wanting to do a movie in China for over a decade since he worked with Chinese actress Shu Qi and Hong Kong director Corey Yuen on 2002's "The Transporter". He tells The Global Times:
"We [Qi and Yuen] shared a lot of interests and tastes in films. I had this idea, but for years I still haven't fulfilled it. The key is finding the right project with the right person."
Zhang Zhao, CEO of Le Vision Pictures and a producer on both "Expendables" sequels, said his company is working with Statham to do just that, however he didn't go into any further details.

China’s LeVision Pictures will screen director Zhang Yimou's latest film, Return, in Imax’s dual 4K laser projection system, making it the first domestic Chinese film to use the technology. Chinese auteur Zhang Yimou's latest has, indeed, found a "Home." Sony Pictures Classics has acquired all rights in North America, Latin America, Australia and New Zealand to Zhang's "Coming Home." A 20th-century-spanning romantic drama about a Chinese dissident, the film stars Gong Li and Chen Daoming, and is currently in post-production. Produced by Bill Kong and Zhang Zhao, "Coming Home" will be the 12th collaboration between Sony Classics and Zhang Yimou, beginning with 1991's "Raise the Red Lantern" and including "House of Flying Daggers," "Curse of the Golden Flower" and "Shanghai Triad." Primary financier LeVision Pictures will handle distribution in China. A master stylist of both martial arts and human drama films, Zhang Yimou's last movie was "The Flowers of War" in 2011.

Wong Kar Wai’s The Grandmaster has scored the highest number of nominations for the upcoming Asia Pacific Film Festival (Apff) awards, which are being held in Macau for the second consecutive year (Dec 13-15).
The Grandmaster scooped nine nods, including best film, best director, best actor (Tony Leung Chiu-wai) and best actress (Zhang Ziyi). It was followed by Bong Joon-ho’s Snowpiercer with seven nominations, including best director, best supporting actor (Song Kang-ho) and best supporting actress (Tilda Swinton).

Director Gordon Chan's next project The Mural, formerly titled Painted Wall, was shot as an action update to his hit Painted Skin and had to be retooled on the fly to satisfy China's censors, the film's producer unveiled for the first time.
The film tells the story of a mythical paradise populated by beautiful women who at once lure men in then spit them out.
Originally set in an ancient nightclub, the Mural plot had to be changed after censors objected to the script mirroring contemporary Chinese life. "Nightclubs are still a forbidden subject with some in China," said Enlight Pictures CEO Zhang Zhao on Friday at the American Film Market. Zhang noted that a great number of clubs were busted around the time he submitted Chan's script to the Film Bureau.
