First off if, like me, you saw the title of this movie and was a little put off, rest assured that Fractured is much better than the generic title…
After looking up director Jamie Patterson it should have been no surprise that he has directed quite a few films (although not any I have actually seen), because Fractured looks very much like a movie made by an experienced filmmaker. It looks great and I loved some of the camera work. There’s some expert use of lighting and several really interesting and simply fantastic-looking shots. Things that might sound simple but on screen are so much more. Like an almost black and white shot of a house with one character in light (and therefore colour) seen through a window.

It’s hard to believe that it’s been three years since special effects man Paul Hyett exploded onto the horror landscape with The Seasoning House, a brutal look at the horrors of war that divided audiences with its harrowing depictions of rape, torture and murder. Cut to 2015 and Hyett returns to the directors chair for Howl. A traditional… werewolf movie? And one penned by a writing duo who, until now, have been best known for their work in children’s television, in particular the likes of Thomas & Friends, Tree Fu Tom and Peter Rabbit. Shooting begins this week on Howl, the new "creature feature" horror film from up and coming director Paul Hyett. Hyett is known for his SFX work on The Woman in Black and The Descent, and he directed acclaimed The Seasoning House.
Howl tells the story of a midnight train which is attacked by a terrifying pack of werewolves, forcing a shy ticket inspector to unleash his inner beast to lead his passengers to safety and survive the night.
Ed Speleers, star of Downton Abbey and the recently released Plastic, and Holly Weston, who played Ash in Hollyoaks, lead the cast alongside Shauna Macdonald and Elliot Cowan, with Amit Shah, Calvin Dean, and Ryan Oliva.
The young cast joining them include Brit School graduate 21 year old Sam Gittins (represented by Bloomfields Welch Management), who was recently seen as Gog in Sky's The Smoke and is also currently filming the new series of Mr Selfridge,...

We've made no secret of our love for British anthology series Bloody Cuts. The team is assembling 13 short films to put together into one large project. And all the films have been outstanding. However, with Don't Move the Bloody Cuts team has outdone themselves.
Made in association with Millennium F/X, Don't Move is an amazing short film. The guys at Bloody Cuts have proven time and time again that they can build tension, but they do it better than ever in this picture. You will be absolutely blown away by the effects in this film. It contains a monster that is better quality than almost anything you've seen in feature films in years, and the death scenes are top notch. And by the way, the last death is absolutely stunning. Don't Move is a damn near perfect short film. #Awesome!

Neil Gaiman confirms the title of his series seven Doctor Who episode...
Warning: contains spoilers for Doctor Who series 7b
This is more confirmation of an existing rumour than newly minted news, but it's good to know all the same. The penultimate episode of Doctor Who's current series (due to return to the BBC on Easter Saturday), written by Neil Gaiman, will indeed be titled The Last Cyberman.
The name first leaked late last year when a script for the episode was discovered in the back of a cab and its title page went whizzing around cyberspace, and it's been listed on the IMDb ever since, but this confirmation comes straight from the horse's mouth, via an interview Gaiman gave to themusic.com.
Aside from the obvious then, what's the episode about? Identity, responsibility, and porridge according to Gaiman. A look at some of the...

Neil Gaiman has written his second Dr. Who script, which is scheduled to be the penultimate episode for the show’s current season. The story will air during the 50th anniversary of the program in 2013. This season will also introduce the Doctor’s latest companion, played by Jenna Louise Coleman.
When the ever-popular Neil Gaiman wrote his first Dr. Who script in season six of the BBC series, fans greeted the news with frenzied glee, especially since it had the tantalizing title of “The Doctor’s Wife”. The episode did not disappoint, and has since become a fan favorite, winning a 2011 Ray Bradbury Award and a 2012 Hugo Award. Gaiman has recently completed his second script for the long-running BBC series, which will air in the second part of season seven. The delectable Anna Popplewell (below) has left the land of Narnia and hasn't looked back when she boarded writer/director John Hales' 'Passengers' this past Summer. Unlike many young women whom would jaw-drop at the possibility of having unlimited wardrobe space for their shoe collection this young lady decided to hop on to the new British thriller from Ratio Films. The project, described as a 'hard-hitting psychological horror thriller', is based on a story by Hales and Carole Budgen. The British cast also consists of the sexy Sophie Colquhoun ('Captain America: The First Avenger'), Jack Derges ('Dungeons and Dragons: The Book of Vile Darkness), Danny Szam, Ian Weichardt, Calvin Dean ('Tormented') and Tom Bacon. Check the plot details below....

Chronicles of Narnia star, 23 year old Anna Popplewell (represented in the UK by Sasha Leslie Management) leads the cast in Passengers, a hard-hitting pyschological thriller which was filmed in and around Birmingham in October.
Written and directed by John Hales (represented by Ed Hughes at Linda Seifert Management), Passengers is the story of a group of intoxicated lads driving to a music festival, who seriously injure a young nurse in a night time collision. They make matters far worse by trying to cover up their mistake by hastening the demise of their victim. This, they come to seriously regret as they realise the extent of their culpability and as an unseen killer proceeds to take brutal vengeance.
Jack Derges, a recent Arts Ed drama school graduate, now represented by Hamilton Hodell, stars as Jed Warner.
Calvin Dean (represented by Williamson and Holmes), who starred as Darren Mullet in Tormented, plays Rog.

Every school seems to have that one poor kid who gets picked on mercilessly. But in Tormented, bullying results in unimaginable horror for the tormentors and the innocent alike. The darkly funny, seriously twisted shocker from Britain makes its U.S. premiere on DVD from IFC Films via Mpi Media Group on August 31, 2010, carrying an Srp of $24.98.
Can revenge reach beyond the grave? As Tormented begins, Darren Mullet (Calvin Dean, The Duchess), an awkward, bullied boy, has committed suicide. Few of the uniform-wearing kids at his prep school can do anything but snicker, except for sweet Justine (Tuppence Middleton, Chatroom), who delivers a eulogy while admitting she can’t remember ever meeting the dead boy.

In Tormented, the British high-school horror/comedy that debuted this week as a video-on-demand feature from IFC Films (see the first part of our set-visit report here), a student who has been bullied to death rises from the grave to take revenge on the cool kids responsible. When alive, Darren Mullett (Calvin Dean) had a crush on Justine (Tuppence Middleton), but the object of Justine’s own affections is Alexis, portrayed by Dimitri Leonidas, making his feature debut after appearing in the popular BBC TV series Grange Hill.
“Alexis is laid-back, knows all the right things to say to girls and does fine in the romance department,” the actor says. “He’s cool and charming, but at that awkward age where he’s not sure what his true goals are. Justine is his opportunity to break free from the old gang dragging him down and become the individual he really wants to be.

Calvin Dean as the killer ghost of Darren Mullet in Tormented
Photo: IFC Films I'm not familiar with IFC's typical slate of films come Halloween season, but this year they are offering a seemingly generic high school thriller from the UK for audiences to choose from by way of Jon Wright's Tormented, a sloppily made film featuring nothing but hateful "90210" types that you simply can't wait until the next one gets knocked off. The largest name in the cast is Alex Rider: Operation Stormbreaker star Alex Pettyfer, but this one's more about the tongue-in-cheek black comedy than anything else and at times it works, but for the most part it's just another run-of-the-mill teen thriller.

IFC Films has announced that it has acquired the British horror/comedy Tormented, and will debut it via its on-demand service this month. The film had originally been picked up for U.S. release by Paramount Vantage before that banner got shuttered earlier this year.
Directed by Jon Wright from a script by Stephen Prentice, Tormented centers on a popular clique of high-schoolers whose bullying leads fellow student Darren (Calvin Dean) to hang himself. While Justine (Tuppence Middleton), a member of the uncool crowd, is seduced into the group by Alexis (Dimitri Leonidas), Darren comes back from the dead to take revenge on his tormentors. The cast also includes Alex Pettyfer (soon to be seen in the title role of Beastly) and April Pearson (pictured) and Larissa Wilson of the hit BBC series Skins, with special makeup by UK FX star Paul Hyett. Tormented will be available on-demand Oct. 21-January...

The latest horror flick from the United Kingdom "Tormented," hopes to capitalize on the success of previous thrillers involving murder at a private school this Summer. BBC and Screen West Midlands are producing "Tormented," for an English audience this May 22, 2009. However, those of us across the ocean will need to wait until July 10, 2009 to see this flick in all its glory. Rehashing a storyline of the bullied becoming the bullier "Tormented," looks similar to other films like "Cry Wolf," and 2001s "The Hole." Apparently, some pretty teenagers will die, at a private school, after one character decides not to go down without a fight. Have a look at the first theatrical trailer, that leaves no uncertainty to the killer's identity, past the break.
The synopsis for "Tormented..."
Darren Mullet, a bullied asthmatic, driven to suicide by his tormented life ignored by his parents, ridiculed by his teachers and bullied at school.

An official U.K. trailer of "Tormented" has made its way out. More than two minutes long, the promotional video starts showing a party. It moves on following two high school students who go to a bedroom for an intimate one-on-one. But, their romantic evening soon turns into a frightening one when a clown-masked man jumps in with a roaring chainsaw in hand.
Still, no blood is shed since the scream-inducing act is only the work of the tormentor In-Crowd clique. But, the clique will soon learn the hard way the effect of bullying their classmates, after they tormented Darren Mullett to death. Thirsty for revenge, Mullett comes back from the dead and takes murderous revenge on his former classmates in increasingly brutal, bloody and imaginative ways.

Ah high school. A veritable emotional minefield where one step can lead you to wild popularity or one misstep can have you losing face, socially that is. I for one wasn’t a big fan of it as I often stood at the receiving end of such torment for the better part of it. So my reaction to the trailer for the British revenge flick Tormented included a lot of substituting a lot of the faces of those pretty young things in the trailer with the faces of the tormentors from my own youth.
Tormented is a high school horror movie that smells like teen spirit… with a hint of rotting flesh! Justine Fielding, played by Tuppence Middleton, is the gorgeous head girl of her plush suburban grammar school Fairview High. She has just won a place at Oxford University when In-Crowd hunk Alexis (Dimitri Leonidas) asks her out on a date.

Classrooms and cafeterias, school ties and pool parties, teenage lives full of promise - all get a terrifying makeover as the best days of your lives become your worst nightmare.
Justine Fielding (tuppence middleton) is the gorgeous head girl of her plush suburban grammar school, Fairview High. She has just won a place at Oxford University when In-Crowd hunk Alexis (Dimitri leonidas) asks her out on a date.
All seems perfect.... except that Alexis and his circle of friends aren't quite as good as they look. Led by tormentor-in-chief Bradley (Alex Pettyfer), the clique’s 'too cool for school’ veneer hides a pack of inventive and merciless bullies who find it vastly amusing to persistently tease anyone they consider a worthless loser.

I've been watching this for a while now with nothing really to post on it, till now! Today a nice little scary CCTV clip showed up, and while it's short, it just whets the appetite. Tormented will be getting a release in the UK on May 22nd here, so we're expecting a full trailer any day now, and from the premise, I'm already in.
