- His father (Frank Jones Jr.) was a multiple Emmy award winning scoring and re-recording mixer at Warner Brothers Studios, Four Media Company, and Larson Sound Center. His grandfather (Frank Jones) spent several years working on sets and sound stages at Universal Studios as an electrician. All three generations have been active participants in the Motion-picture and Television Industry.
- At only fifteen years of age, he began studying electronic music with Mike Watts and formal composition with Rowan Taylor (who gained the distinction of being the most prolific living composer in 1995 after completing a stunning 265 symphonies).
