Vasilis K. Kountouris is co-founder - together with Costas Bokos- of
Studio19st, a sound and multimedia studio which
specializes on creative multimedia productions. As a main member of the
creative team he concentrates on composing, recording, designing,
processing and producing music, sound and audiovisual material for
performances, movies, the music industry, multimedia and art
installations. The recording-multimedia studio functions as an
instrument for enabling a creative approach to sound, music and visual
synthesis.
He has collaborated with various institutions within the framework of research projects and sound applications: "The Sound Map of Greece" - GSRT, International Conference of Music Technology (I.C.M.C '97 Thessalonica 1997), exhibition "Byzantine Hours" (Athens, Byzantine and Christian Museum, Multimedia installation «Athens 2002- Absolute Realism» at 8th International Architecture Exhibition, Venice 2002. "The Grand Promenade" International Exhibition (17/7-29/9/2007 - National Museum of Contemporary Art - Athens), "Ancient Agora of Athens" ("Tholos" dome-shaped Virtual Reality "Theatre" - Foundation of the Hellenic World etc.
Furthermore, Vasilis Kountouris with studio19st team have collaborated in the production of sound material for various theatre and dancing companies such as: The National Theatre of Greece, The National Theatre of Northern Greece, Edafos Dance Company, Theseum Enseble, Landscape Dance Company, Analysis Dance Company, Octana etc.
They have created the sound design for movies, theatre & dance performances. As well as sound & musical compositions for multi-media productions, art installations and various performances.
Vasilis Kountouris also worked together with Costas Bokos for the sound design of the performance "Odyssey" of Homer, directed by Robert Wilson, at the National Theatre of Greece. in Athens (26/10/2012-16/03/2013) and at Piccolo Theatro (Milano 2-24 April 2013)
