In a new interview with Complex, former WWE champ/current Ufc star Cm Punk appears to have gone off the rails, melting down when asked some questions the ex-pro wrestler found in poor taste. The most shocking thing? By most standards, the questions in question (pun intended) were relatively tame.
While the interview started out innocently enough, within less than thirty minutes, it was total Punk meltdown. Focusing on his transition to Mma, things were initially fine: the Duke Roufus pupil talked about training at the Ufc’s new performance center, and about writing comics, noting that he’d love to tackle The Punisher, who he feels (and he’s not wrong, especially when it comes to big screen adaptations) hasn’t been done right more times than not.
He goes on to talk about training with Roufus, how well-rounded and knowledgeable he is about striking, and addresses...

Former WWE champion Cm Punk has spent the entirety of 2015 preparing for his Ufc debut. Training with Duke Roufus at his Roufusport gym in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Punk is part of a team with some World Champion calibre fighters, among them Anthony Pettis (ex-ufc lightweight champion) and Ben Askren (current One Fc welterweight champion).
Yet a year of training also means a year of anticipation and wonder for fans and critics of the pro wrestler turned mixed martial artist. And as 2015 draws to a close, speculation as to just when Punk, a.k.a. Phil Brooks, will make his way to the cage abounds.
When is probably the wrong question to ask, however. Frankly, Punk’s debut in the Ufc will happen when it happens, though there is at least one date – one event – that certainly makes sense. That said, the real question to ask is “What should we expect?...

Cm Punk’s journey to the Ufc octagon may take even longer than expected, as the former WWE Champion has hit yet another bump in the road, this time due to injury.
According to comments from Punk’s head coach, Duke Roufus, Punk was recently injured in training – and will be examined by a doctor on October 14th to determine the extent of the injury. If all looks well, he could return to training at that time. The injury is apparently a shoulder injury, but beyond that, its nature isn’t known.
Speaking to Espn, Roufus stated that;
He got caught in a scramble, so right now he’s taking a little time off. He was doing great before that. His progress has been good.
He went on to break down how the injury will impact Punk’s debut timeline;
The Ufc will probably book him a...

Cm Punk has told ufc.com that he’s still hoping to fight his first Ufc fight in December. This is somewhat of a surprise, as his coach Duke Roufus had previously talked about wanting Punk to complete a fully year of training first. That would have put the former WWE star’s Ufc debut around summer of 2016.
But Punk believes he’ll be ready to go in December, one year on from the announcement that he’d signed with the Mma promotion. “I say this all the time: I’d love to fight tomorrow,” he told Ufc.com. “But I want to be as prepared as I possibly can be and I will be. I’m still shooting for December. It might be January. I’m not sure, but I’ll be ready when I fight.”
“I don’t ask my coaches, ‘How did I do today?...

It looks like the Ufc is preparing to ramp up the hype train surrounding their biggest signing in recent memory.
Cm Punk’s most recent public appearance, in his home town of Chicago, saw him turn up with a camera crew in tow, filming a documentary of his attempt to make it to (and in) the Ufc octagon. It’s an approach that many media pundits suggested could be an option for the former WWE champion when the news of his signing with the Ufc was first announced.
The appearance, at Challenger Comics, saw about 400 fans show up to the ticketed event, according to Pw Insider. It was held to promote Marvel’s Thor Annual #1, co-written by Punk, and saw fans interviewed about the star and filmed interacting with him. Signs posted stated that those in attendance were giving their consent to appear in the project. The documentary is...

The first ever photo of Cm Punk in action at his new home has surfaced, thanks once again to Roufusport founder Duke Roufus, who posted the photo to Instagram earlier today. And although it’s but a single photo of the former WWE champion, combined with a few comments from Roufus, it actually gives fans quite a bit of info.
For starters, there’s a good chance that, after some speculation about middleweight, welterweight could be Punk’s home. His first sparring partner, seen in the shot, is welterweight Craig Eckelberg. Note the size difference between the two: there’s not that much of one. At middleweight, and likely not carrying all the muscle mass from his wrestling days, Punk could find himself overpowered. Welterweight would seem to be a much safer option.

Beyond the weight class iss, the caption also referenced this session as a fight scrimmage.

Cm Punk’s Mma career has been progressing slowly (as it should) since the big announcement in December that he had signed with the Ufc. And while some of the hoopla has died down since then, there’s still a lot of interest in his activities – especially as it pertains to just how skilled he actually is inside the cage.
Well, March has been another milestone month for Punk, as it appears that he has completed his first sparring session. The news was posted to Instagram by Duke Roufus of Roufusport, where Punk is currently training with the likes of Ufc lightweight champion Anthony Pettis and One Fc welterweight champion Ben Askren. The gym’s founder and head coach also posted a new photo with Punk taken after the sparring session. Punk, though obviously a little tired, looks none the worse for wear.
Along with the picture, Roufus included...

Having had a month to train with the former WWE champion, Cm Punk’s new coach, Duke Roufus, of Roufusport, has nothing but complimentary things to say about the fighter and his ability to absorb knowledge thus far.
Echoing the statements of Punk’s sometimes Brazilian Jiu-jitsu coach Rener Gracie, Rousfus has painted the former pro wrestler as a fast learner with an incredible knack for picking up new techniques.
Speaking to MMAJunkie Radio this week, Roufus, a renowned striking coach, said that;
…we’ve had about a month together. We’re having a good time. The guy is working hard. He’s got a great attitude and he is a sponge.
He’s going to be an entertaining fighter in the Ufc, and that’s why we watch.
Roufus, however, wouldn’t comment on a possible first opponent or timetable for Punk’s Ufc debut.

Cm Punk has completed his first day of Mma training at Roufusport. The former WWE superstar is now underway in his journey toward the Ufc’s octagon.
Anthony Pettis, the Ufc Lightweight Champion and Roufusport fighter, posted the above picture on social media. He stated, “Haven’t had a black eye forever, but when your training with these beasts s**t happens…. cmpunk…”
Perhaps that’s an indication that Punk was working his striking and caused the black eye. The unproven Ufc fighter had previously indicated he picked the Roufusport camp for its reputation in training striking. The Milwaukee based centre is ran by Duke Roufus and its two biggest stars are Pettis and One Fc Welterweight Champion Ben Askren.
What’s interesting, is that Askren was livid when the Ufc announced the signing of Punk. Askren is undefeated and was livid that Ufc had signed a nobody in Mma ahead of himself.

Drum roll, please! And the winner of the Cm Punk sweepstakes is… Roufusport!
Punk will be training at the Roususport Mma Academy in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, a close enough drive from his home state of Illinois to keep him local and able to spend less time traveling and more time in the gym. And, as an added bonus, he’ll be working with one of the best striking coaches (Duke Roufus), a Ufc champion (lightweight champ Anthony Pettis), and One Fc champion Ben Askren, one of the best wrestlers in Mma, with wrestling being something Punk will need to work hard on.
Of course, Askren was one of the most vocal critics of the Ufc signing Punk, and that should prove to be interesting once the two start actively training together. Askren was snubbed by the Ufc after finishing up his contract with Bellator Mma, where he was their undefeated welterweight champion.
