The world’s at war with itself. And this restless vigilance against perceived attacks transcends sociopolitical spaces and permeates the air we breathe. One of these war zones is the German high school in İlker Çatak’s volatile drama The Teacher’s Lounge. Loaded up on weaponized paranoia, the classroom and the teacher’s room in this school vehemently reject any one narrative. What suffers is the fresh new teacher’s idealism, and the old, experienced ones’ notions of fairness and unfairness are questioned.

Although one may be tempted to classify The Teacher’s Lounge (Das Lehrerzimmer) as a treatise on the social dynamics within the setting of a high school in Germany, there is far more at work here that is indicative of the Oscar nomination for Best International Feature Film bestowed upon the work this year. It is, in short, one of the best films of the year.
The film begins with math teacher Carla Nowak (Leonie Benesch) calling her class of high school students to order using a series of brief calisthenic-like movements to start the day. Throughout the course of the day, Carla’s dedication to the profession becomes evident. But when a series of thefts is found to be plaguing the school, and one of her students is suspected of the crime, she attempts to investigate the pilfering herself. This leads her to heated confrontations with colleagues, parents, and...

Skymed, Season One, was released last year to lukewarm reviews. The show was greenlit for a second season, and it has been out for people to watch and enjoy since January 11th, 2024. It’s a CBC show, and the second installment began from the point the last season ended, and it is an extension of the life all the nurses and pilots lead in the northern and colder regions of Canada by saving lives. Skymed Season 1 introduced the viewers to the characters and walked them through their pasts and jobs. While many had other aspirations, only a few of them were ready to quit the air ambulance to pursue their dreams.

Is Chopper Back With The Air Ambulance Service?
Chopper, at the end of the season, was all set to join the selection camp organized by the Canadian space agency, and he was determined to be an astronaut.

There are plenty of medical drama series on American television. Gray’s Anatomy, The Good Doctor, New Amsterdam, Scrubs, House M.D., ER, and General Hospital are some of the popular shows in the United States in this genre. Skymed is a Canadian medical drama that aired on CBC Television in 2022 and has been renewed for its next season this year. This nine-episode series covers the lives of several nurses and pilots who work for a government air ambulance service in the northern part of Canada, which is covered by dense forest and whose population is scattered. These physicians and medical experts fly men and women who face several kinds of injuries, sicknesses, and ailments. There are several low-maintenance clinics in these wild areas, but most patients are taken to the nearest all-facility hospital in Winnipeg, Canada.

Polish film and TV writer/director Agnieszka Smoczyńska's biographical film "The Silent Twins" is heading to Peacock. The movie is inspired by the book of the same name written by investigative journalist Marjorie Wallace. Published in 1986 under the title "The Silent Twins: A true story of love and hate, dreams and desolation, genius and destruction," Wallace's book is itself based on the true story of June and Jennifer Gibbons, twin sisters who only communicated with each other, and came to be known as "the silent twins."
Smoczyńska's film is heading to Peacock after getting a very limited theatrical release from Focus Features on September 16, 2022 -- meaning, this is probably the first time most people have even heard of the movie. So, before it joins acclaimed 2022 films like Scott Derrickson's "The Black Phone" on NBCUniversal's streaming service, here's everything you need to know about the film ahead of time.

Amazon’s Prime Video is going big with fall TV, launching the most expensive TV series in history, “The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power,” and taking full control of NFL’s “Thursday Night Football.” But on the film side, things are a little less groundbreaking and more in flux as the industry waits to see what the e-commerce giant plans to do with MGM and which top movie-studio exec Amazon will select to run its film business.
Among those whom Variety hears Amazon has spoken with in recent weeks are Netflix film chief Scott Stuber, Paramount Pictures alum Emma Watts and Warner Bros. vet Toby Emmerich. But according to multiple sources familiar with the matter, though Amazon “loved” Watts and doesn’t see Stuber as being interested in this type of role, deliberations are far from over and Amazon still has distance to go before the top film exec is chosen.
