There's no point of reviewing Sunday (September 14) night's The Simpsons Take The Bowl show from The Hollywood Bowl, at least not in a traditional way. Sunday's presentation was the third and final night for The Simpsons Take The Bowl and, alas, if you didn't catch one of the shows... That's it. Sorry. Timed to loosely synchronize with the classic comedy's 25th anniversary, the show's recent syndicated move to Fxx and Sunday, September 28 premiere for the new season, The Simpsons Take The Bowl was a terrific two hours of live music, singing and dancing, culminating in fireworks. The event featured an assortment of new animation tailored around the venue, but also included classic "Simpsons" bits including Homer's plummet down the Springfield Gorge, Homer's gambol through The Land of Chocolate and the transition from the Ajax Steel Mill into The Anvil. I'm not sure that all of my favorite "Simpsons" musical moments were acknowledged.

It'll be a lifelong duet on the dance floor for Stephen "Twitch" Boss and Allison Holker, who were married Tuesday in Paso Robles, Calif. Fittingly, the So You Think You Can Dance costars tied the knot at a winery owned by the show's producer and judge, Nigel Lythgoe, who joined the happy couple to Tweet photos of their "rustic chic" big day. Added Holker: "It's official. I'm Mrs. Boss. We got married," she Tweeted. And yes, dance fans, the couple, who met during the show's seventh season, could not resist a little showmanship, performing a hip-hop-inspired dance routine to Justin Bieber...

The night started with four of the eight remaining dancers in danger on "So You Think You Can Dance." But none of them managed to steal the show once former contestant and choreographer Travis Wall hit the stage with contestant Amy Yakima. Still, the four did everything they could to impress, as this was the judges' last chance to have a voice in who goes home. Starting next week, it's all up to America.
It was up to Hayley Erbert, Fik-shun, Jenna Johnson and Tucker Knox to impress the judges with their solos. Ballroom dancers have always struggled with solo work, which is why Jenna brought out a skirt to partner with in her solo Paso Doble. Later, she danced a trippy jazz routine with Mark Kanemura, that figuratively brought HitFix's Liane Bonin Starr to her feet alongside the judges. "Jenna is, as always, great," she wrote. If last week’s introduction of the Season 10 All-Stars added a little snap, crackle and pop to the So You Think You Can Dance Tuesday-night cereal bowl — come now, let’s all admit flakes and milk are not just for breakfast anymore! — then tonight’s decision to let the show’s alumni choreograph all eight competitive routines was like an additional dollop of blackberries, strawberries and wheat germ.
Let’s be clear: More important than the nostalgia factor of old pals Allison Holker, Mark Kanemura and Courtney Galiano (among others) bringing their energy and grace to the stage was...

Spoiler ahead. Two more dancers have left the competition after the Tuesday, Aug. 20 performance show, which featured host Cat Deeley dressed as a fresh-out-of-the-shower mascara zombie from hell and the season 10 finalists paired up with eight of the most beloved So You Think You Can Dance All-Stars. I’ll post my full recap of tonight’s performances later on (update: here it is!); in the meantime, discuss!
Jenna Johnson and Tucker Knox have been eliminated.
Agggghhh. The former partners (pre-All-Star episodes this season) just told Cat Deeley their favorite parts of the competition were meeting each other and becoming best friends!

Courtney Galiano may not be a name you recognize, but "Glee" fans may recognize her face. Or, rather, her moves.
The former "So You Think You Can Dance" finalist and All-Star appears in "Glee: The 3D Concert Movie" as one of the backup dancers. This gig comes after appearing on the hit Fox television show a couple times – once as a member of Vocal Adrenaline, natch – and following familiar faces like Lea Michele and Cory Monteith on tour as a dancer both this summer and last.
The first time she appeared on "Glee"… The first episode that I did was “This is a Man’s World” when Quinn actually sang “This is a Man’s World” and I was pregnant, so it was pretty interesting. I sent my parents a picture; I was like “Surprise!” It was kind of funny.

After last week's third consecutive injury debacle, no one was eliminated on So You Think You Can Dance. The two weeks prior to that, an injured dancer was eliminated. So we haven't seen anyone cut who's actually competed on the program since July 8.
They're making up for lost time now, however.
Two dancers will be ousted tomorrow night, leaving the season's final four standing. Let's take a look at how the remaining six did, and who's in jeopardy.
Kent Boyd with Anya Garnis (cha cha): Kent has come so far this season, Nigel Lythgoe said. When he goes for it, it just works. The clear favorite, Kent.
Robert Roldan with Kathryn McCormick (contemporary): In a piece about going off to war, Robert and Kathryn did a gorgeous job, showing serious talent.
Billy Boyd's knee was fine last night. His performances were as well.
Despite his early struggles,...

Sigh. One week after Alex Wong tore his Achilles tendon and was declared Dfy, not only costing So You Think You Can Dance a fan favorite but rendering that entire week's worth of performances more or less moot, Ashley Galvan was on the shelf with a rib injury.
She did not dance Wednesday and will be in the bottom three.
Unlike Alex, her status is likely to remain questionable through tonight, so if she makes it through but still can't dance, she's out of the show. Who will join her on the block?
Here's our take on last night's Sytycd performances ...
Lauren Froderman with Mark Kanemura (Tahitian): High energy, but the first Tahitian display on the show can be summed up as such: "I have no idea what to say." - Nigel
You gotta love this feedback, too: Mia Michaels says Lauren looked like a duck in heat, and...

A pall was cast over So You Think You Can Dance last night after it was revealed that Alex Wong hurt his leg while rehearsing a Bollywood routine with Adechike Torbert.
He could not perform last night.
Best case: He'll recover and perform next week. Worst case: Alex ruptured his Achilles tendon and is Dfy. Sad. He's in the bottom three tonight automatically either way.
Given his popularity, and the fact that fans will sympathize with his injury, we'd say there's little chance he'll be voted out, especially if there's a chance he's on the mend.
If he can't perform next week, however, then he's out for good. Cross your fingers that scenario never comes into play and wish Alex Wong a swift and thorough recovery.
Your Top Eight Dancers: (from left to right) Lauren Froderman, Jose Ruiz, Kent Boyd, the injured Alex Wong, Ashley Galvan, AdeChike Torbert, Robert Roldan and Billy Bell.

We’ve Finally eliminated Melinda — now it’s time for some real competition!
I’m so relieved that America and the judges finally came to their senses and chose to eliminate Melinda Sullivan this week. I really did admire the tap dancer’s determination to live up to new challenges, but I couldn’t connect with her at all –- and apparently, neither did most of America, seeing that she was in the bottom 3 every week!
Robert Roldan and Billy Bell, who are always seemingly together, also found themselves in the bottom three together last night. I was Not shocked to see both of them in danger, seeing that Robert had to dance for his life last week and hearing the judges tell Billy on Wednesday night that he had to work on connecting with his partner And the audience. Those boys need to step up their game!

When "So You Think You Can Dance" contestant José "Full Deck" Ruiz was assigned to a Bollywood style dance, he appeared stunned, confessing later that he didn't even know how to spell Bollywood, much less how to dance it.
Also unfamiliar was his costume. When Zap2it caught up with him backstage after his performance, we asked if he ever thought he'd be on national television in a sparkly blue vest.
"Never in a million years," he laughed.
His castmate Kent Boyd chimed in, ""I wonder how your B-boys think of that!"
Ruiz rolled his eyes. "I don't even want to know!"
Fortunately, he wasn't the only contestant forced into unfamiliar territory for the Top 10 episode. In order to get into the right mood for his Argentine tango, Robert Roldan took some advice from his choreographer Jean-Marc Généreux. Following the surprise elimination of Alexie Agdeppa last week, the remaining four girls and six guys on So You Think You Dance were on notice - nothing can be taken for granted.
This week, the show continued to switch up its format (which makes it a little hard to get into the groove, to be honest), with the top 10 pulling their All-Star partners out of a hat.
With the All-Star choice came the selected style of dance. Another big change was that this time, the partners were in on the critiquing along with the crop of Sytycd hopefuls.
It's unclear if the All-Stars are, or should be part of the critique, or whether they should get lost and leave the contestant as the focus. Feels like they're making it up as they go.
That said, there was terrific dancing as always.
The Top 10: Tonight, only nine will remain.

Someone had to go — and Alexie definitely deserved to be the first eliminated contestant from So You Think You Can Dance this season!
There were group hugs, silly dancing and lots of tears on So You Think You Can Dance’s first elimination show of the season June 17 when jazz dancer Alexie Agdeppa got the boot — but honestly, she deserved to go!
Despite the critiques the 26-year-old jazz dancer received from the judges, I was unimpressed by her hip-hop performance with Twitch. After a truncated audition period and last Thursday's weird exhibition episode, So You Think You Can Dance got underway last night, its pairs competing for the first time.
Camera and audio issues aside, it was as good or better than we remember from previous years. The new format with the newcomers and All-Stars is intriguing as well.
Here's a breakdown of the Top 11 performances last night ...
Billy Bell & Lauren Gottlieb: Their Broadway bit by Tyce Diorio was alright, but the steps didn't really follow the beat; Billy stood out, but their chemistry was lacking.
That fact was noted by Nigel, as well. Adam even said Billy needs to focus on the intangibles, since the steps come so naturally. Mia was proud of him in the new genre.
Cristina Santana & Mark Kanemura: Sonya wanted a sexy, sensual jazz routine, and thanks in part to her all-star partner, Cristina...

The judges on So You Think You Can Dance praised the boring dances and ripped on my faves — what’s going on?
For the first time ever, Fox’s hit dance show was taped live June 16 — and I had the pleasure of experiencing it in person. Unfortunately, Adam Shankman, Nigel Lythgoe and Mia Michaels‘ criticism was Way off if you ask me!
I couldn’t believe all three judges thought 23-year-old ballet-dancing wonder Alex Wong and All-Star Allison Holker’s performance was the best in So You Think You Can Dance history.
“I believe that you have just set a new standard for [the show],” Nigel said.
Mia also gushed about Alex, saying, “I have to say that that is the best, hands-down … piece of work danced on [this] stage anywhere, in the world, up to date.”
Exaggerate much? Alex and Allison’s dance last night...

Really, So You Think You Can Dance? We're big fans and all, for many seasons now, and you look even more amazing in HD (we just upgraded after all these years).
But there was no competition last night, nor did we even get to see what the Top 11 or the All-Stars are really all about - if you missed it, you officially missed nada.
This was like a preseason game after the first three weeks of the regular season. What's the point? Why not jump right into the competition and elimination rounds?
We appreciated the truncated audition rounds, but Thursday was pure filler, no way around it, with random routines and the dancing groups arbitrarily grouped at that.
There were plenty of memorable moves, to be sure, but it was hard to even know who to watch sometimes. If this were the post-show tour, it would've worked more.

Nick Jonas reportedly has been pulling double duties on the dating scene lately. Showbiz Spy reported that the 17-year-old Jonas Brothers star is romancing two women, his "Jonas L.A." co-star Nicole Anderson and former "So You Think You Can Dance" contestant Courtney Galiano.
Both Nicole and Courtney are older than Nick. Nicole is 19 years old, while Courtney is 21 years old. On how Nick managed his grueling dating schedule, the ex-boyfriend of Miley Cyrus was said hooking up with Nicole while he was in Los Angeles and when he headed out to New York, he was busy hanging with Courtney.

"Glee" has been keeping Lauren Gottlieb busy before she returns as an all-star on "So You Think You Can Dance."
The 21-year-old dancer is one of the members of Vocal Adrenaline, the show choir nemesis of William McKinley High's underdog glee club New Directions. In Tuesday's (June 1) episode "Funk," our heroes get discouraged after seeing Vocal Adrenaline kicking butt as usual, so it's up to Mr. Schue (Matthew Morrison) to raise their morale.
Although Gottlieb enjoys being the villain on "Glee," the actors' heartbreaking performances sometimes make it hard to play the bad guy.
"It's crazy and we love it because we're all together, so we just ham it up all day," she tells Zap2it. "But it's really sad to look over when we're shooting a scene with the main cast and Lea Michele is almost in tears. It's really sad. I'm definitely not that person to just stand...

With "American Idol" in the rearview mirror, it's time for the reality competition that really pushes competitors to the limit and rarely disappoints. "So You Think You Can Dance" kicks off its seventh season with a two-hour premiere tonight (May 27) at 8 p.m., and with this new season, producer Nigel Lythgoe has shaken things up a bit by bringing in some new twists.
There are a handful of new rules that will switch up the competition entirely. The most notable one sees the jettisoning of the top 20. Instead, they're choosing 10 dancers right away (five guys and five girls) from the audition rounds in Las Vegas. The show will be augmented by a team of 12 "all-stars" — past contestants from different seasons who are "experts" in their particular dance genre. These dancers won’t be judged, and won't be choreographing.

With "American Idol" in the rearview mirror, it's time for the reality competition that really pushes competitors to the limit and rarely disappoints. Sassy Lauren Gottlieb is back on "So You Think You Can Dance," and she's more excited than before.
"It's really, really nerve-racking, and I think it'll bring back all those old feelings from the past," the dancer tells Zap2it about returning as an all-star partner to the Top 10 finalists.
"I think looking back on the show, being 18-years-old, it goes by really fast. From one day to the next you have to jump into a new skin. But this time, it's a little bit different. We don't get judged and we don't get voted off, which is amazing."
Gottlieb, now 21, isn't exactly sure how the new format will play out, but she's hoping not to feel overly responsible for how the contestants fare under her mentorship.
"It's a duet, it's a partnership," she says. "So if something goes wrong -- knock on wood right now -- I would totally feel responsible for it.

"So You Think You Can Dance" is really shaking things up this year with Mary Murphy departing as a regular judge, Mia Michaels joining the panel as a permanent one and only having a Top 10 that will dance with past seasons all-stars.
Now judge and producer Nigel Lythgoe has been busy tweeting more details about the changes. He tweets:
Okay. I understand you want us to change the set this Season. I will check it out with my designer, Andy and we will make some adjustments.
Mary is still on the show but don't make the same mistake as "Idol" this season. The show should be about the young talent not the judges.
We're not telling the contestants if they made #Sytycd in the studio. We're going out to the dancer's homes. I say "No" to someone tomorrow
Oooh, burn to "American Idol," though not entirely unwarranted. Also, is anyone...

Adam Shankman is returning as a permanent judge to "So You Think You Can Dance" and Mia Michaels has been added as the third full-timer for the upcoming seventh season.
Executive Producer and judge Nigel Lythgoe says, "I am extremely happy that Mia and Adam have returned and agreed to be resident judges. Mia's outspoken approach combined with Adam's passion will definitely add a fresh new chemistry to the panel."
The press release from Fox makes no mention of past judge Mary Murphy and SYTYCDism said back on March 29 that Murphy would not be a permanent judge and would only be choreographing and guest judging. We have approached Fox for comment on Mary and will let you know as soon as we hear anything.
So it would appear that the three permanent judges for Season 7 are Nigel, Adam and Mia. Interesting. Do you think that will work? Or will the...

So You Think You Can Dance clearly took Sue Sylvester's advice and is swishing it up more than a bit for season 7, which premieres May 27. Alright, kids, I've been trying to keep quiet about "So You Think You Can Dance's" newest all-star participant for the past few days, but judge Nigel Lythgoe just announced that Courtney Galiano -- of Season 4 fame -- will be joining Season 7 as an expert partner to the new crop of contestants, so I think it's cool for us to talk about it now.
First of all, Courtney is a doll.
In the clip below, she tells us about how thrilled she is to be returning to the show, how it all came about, how grateful she is for the opportunities "So You Think You Can Dance" has afforded her and how she just shot an episode of "Glee" for Fox...
Here's a little more scoop on Courtney's "Glee" stint: Though she doesn't have a speaking line, she will be appearing in two different scenes during the season finale, playing two completely different characters.

It's early evening in Las Vegas and the remaining contestants have pushed past ballroom and are now on to broadway with Emmy-winning choreographer Tyce Diorio, assisted by Season 4 standout, Courtney Galiano.
Galiano has not been named as a returning all-star for Season 7, but executive producer and judge Nigel Lythgoe did tell me Thursday that there are more slots open, so it's still a possibility.
Either way, you'll see Courtney on the show this year, assisting Tyce at the very least. The two are looking quite sharp and in tip top shape on the Vegas stage.
The kids who've survived up to this point -- and there are many -- are still looking solid as well. The talents of these dancers never cease to amaze me and I cannot begin to imagine how mentally and emotionally exhausted they must be at the moment.
I'm tired and all I've been doing is...

Pop superstar Nick Jonas was born Nicholas Jerry Jonas in Dallas, Texas, on September 16, 1992, the third of four children for Paul Kevin Jonas, Sr. and Denise Jonas. The family eventually moved to Wyckoff, New Jersey. Music was no doubt in Nick's genes, as his dad was a songwriter, musician and ordained minister, while his mom was a singer and sign language teacher. Nick displayed talent early on, and he was -- as the story goes -- discovered at a barber shop. That encounter led to professional management, which resulted in appearances in several theatrical productions, including A Christmas Carol and The Sound of Music, as well as the Broadway shows Beauty and the Beast, Les Miserables, and Annie Get Your Gun. Nick scored his first recording success in 2002 with "Joy to the World (A Christmas Prayer)," a song he wrote with his father and recorded with cast mates from Beauty and the Beast.

So You Think You Can Dance season 4 finalist Courtney Galiano has popped up in a new comedy video from The Jonas Brothers. Galiano and the Jonas Brothers tweeted about the video "Bounce" and it was posted on the JoBros official Youtube page. The video features Galiano as a neon-clad back-up dancer wearing some glassless frames that fellow season 4 finalist Twitch would appreciate.
Galiano is not the only guest star featured in the music video, Disney star Demi Lovato also makes a cameo as a rapper. Sadly Galiano doesn't do any of her evocative solo work that got her to the So You Think You Can Dance finale in the first place, but there are a couple of sick breakers featured in the video. It's good for a laugh and always wonderful to check in with So You Think You Can Dance alumni.

To mark tonight's season premiere of So You Think You Can Dance, we asked season 4 fan favorite Stephen "tWitch" Boss -- he and partner Katee Shean performed Mia Michaels' Emmy-nominated routine to "Mercy" (a.k.a. "The Door Dance") -- to pick his favorite Sytycd performances of all time. His list, "in no particular order," follows. 15. Ade and Melissa, "This Woman’s Work" (season 5) Choreographed by Tyce Diorio "I’m definitely in tears writing about this one. There was power, trust, hope, understanding, compassion, sincerity, anger, fear, and all of the other underlying things that come along when you or someone you know goes through this experience . Everyone who felt the power of this piece was connected on what the meaning of unconditional love really is and should be. Through it all, love stands, and no matter what, no matter how messed-up or not to our liking the situation may be,...
