Paltan
Starring Arjun Rampal, Harshvardhan Rane, Gurmeet Chowdhary
Directed by J P Dutta
For what seems like an intermittent period of acute stock-taking Paltan looks like J P Dutta’s Loc Kargil minus the stars. In Loc we had the likes of Sanjay Dutt, Saif Ali Khan, Abhishek Bachchan and Nagarjuna playing soldier. In Paltan it’s the likes of Arjun Rampal, Gurmeet Chowdhary and Luv Sinha playing soldier-soldier.
Recession is upon us.
The film is very beautifully shot in a toasted-brown splendor and the background score(by Sanjoy Chowdhary) is effective even when it has to support some of the cheesiest dialogues on valour written outside Doordrashan’s Shaktimaan. But the songs by Anu Malik are insipid re-hashes of what Malik made in Dutta’s Border. Where are the great J P Dutta melodies from his war movies ?
And where are those heartstopping moments of patriotic heroism that made Border so unforgettable?...

Nothing can beat this observation – flop actor Luv Sinha looks like Hollywood star Robert Pattinson!
Apparently someone told Luv of his uncanny resemblance with Pattinson, who played an endearing vampire in the ‘Twilight’ series.
‘Damn I can’t stop laughing. Someone commented that I look like Edward Cullen of ‘Twilight’! Seriously?’
The actor, who made his debut with box office dud ‘Sadiyaan’, even went to the extent of posting his picture alongside Pattinson for a comparison.

After launching Sonakshi Sinha in Dabangg and giving her perhaps the biggest hit of her career already, Salman Khan has decided to take her brother Luv Sinha under his wing. For now, Khan has apparently opened his personal gym for Luv in hopes to help him build up a much required physique.

His own career failed to take off well, but actor Luv Sinha is doing his best to promote his younger sister Sonakshi Sinha’s debut ‘Dabangg’.

The 26-year-old son of veteran actor Shatrughan Sinha is also in awe of Salman Khan, who features opposite Sonakshi in the film.
‘..something to think about – Mr.Salman Khan is one of the few actors who has never played safe or just worked with big directors…,’ added Luv, whose debut ‘Sadiyaan’ earlier this year flopped at the box office.

I wrote him off. He knows this. But this didn't stop the incredibly smart Luv Sinha from agreeing to an interview with BollySpice. And after he blatantly told me he read my review, he was then more than accommodating when I asked him to be the first in a series of interviews that would highlight newcomers in Bollywood. While his career took off on the wrong foot with Sadiyaan, that has not dampened his spirits and Sinha junior is determined to prove that he was made for cinema. While stardom doesn't happen overnight, Luv does believe he has a lot to show especially since acting is clearly in genes. Luv is son to Shatrughan Sinha, one of the most powerful actors in Hindi cinema and a popular politician. But Luv has no intentions of riding high on his family name and intends to make a prominent name for him sans...

Colombo, June 5 – Veteran actor Shatrughan Sinha’s son Luv Sinha, who made his screen debut with ‘Sadiyaan’ that also starred Rekha and Hema Malini, feels that it was a mistake to start his career with that film.
Now, he is carefully going through scripts because he doesn’t want to make the same mistake again.
‘I’m going through scripts and trying to find the right projects because it is very important. I don’t want to make the same mistake twice basically. Based on audience perception to your work, you have.

April 14, 2010:The scathing reviews of his son’s debut film Sadiyaan has left Shatrughan Sinha wondering if his son Luv Sinha is being put through the grinder because of whose son he is.
Says the protective father, “It’s quite clear that Luv is paying a price for being his father’s son. He isn’t being given a chance to make his presence felt. People who have scores to settle with me are coming out to target my boy. It isn’t fair.”
He goes on to say, “Tell me which newcomer has not been awkward in his first film. Why be so harsh with Luv? Does he not deserve.

Well, we have had a roller coaster of an Easter Weekend - it all started on Easter Friday when we sat in for Nihal and then hot footed it to the suburbs of Harrow to watch Raj Kanwar's Sadiyaan. We have to say that although the reviews have been mixed, for us it was an absolute pleasure to see to divatastic legends - Hema Malini and Rekha on screen. They were simply superb.
Director Raj Kanwar revealed that the film was inspired by true events told to him by his late mother - a partition tragedy made good. He is a very passionate director who believes that Indian values of emotionalism are the key the success of Bollywood cinema. We were impressed by the candour of the newcomer and leading man Luv Sinha - he seems very focussed and looking forward to developing his craft further and is positive taking all the criticism.

Film: ‘Sadiyaan’; Starring: Rishi Kapoor, Hema Malini, Rekha, Introducing Luv Sinha and Ferena Wazeir; Directed by: Raj Kanwar; Rating: ***
It is deliciously ironical that during the week that our tennis queen Sania Mirza announced she would marry a Pakistani cricketer, comes this film where the young desi pair threatens to get married and move to Pakistan.
Life often imitates art. And art is often a close companion of kitsch and melodrama. Kitschy melodrama is attacked by purists. But there’s something to be said about a good old-fashioned melodrama like ‘Sadiyaan’ where the biological and foster mothers, played by Hema Malini and Rekha respectively, vie for a son’s love.

March 29, 2010:His debut ‘Sadiyaan’ has not even released yet but Luv Sinha is already the talk of B town and beyond..
And, Luv is not just ‘luv’able. He is quite a young rebel behind that handsome face of his. He is honest and a straight talker. Well, what can we say – like father like son!
But, then, he doesn’t want to bask in the glory of his father’s name alone but wants to have his own identity and is willing to go the distance to achieve his goals unlike some others who expect everything on a silver platter.
Luv is much in the mould like James.
