Music is a vital part of Shaun Of The Dead, Hot Fuzz and The World's End. We take a look in more detail right here...
This feature contains major spoilers for Shaun Of The Dead, Hot Fuzz and The World's End.
Edgar Wright's films are often likened to musicals, with his precise use of editing and shot choices giving us some of the most stylish comedy films of the century. His latest, Baby Driver, isn't a comedy per se, but “a musical with car chases”, or “An American In Paris on wheels and crack smoke”, as an elated Guillermo del Toro described it on Twitter.
Centring around Ansel Elgort's Baby, a getaway driver who does his best work while listening to a personal soundtrack, it seems like the film Wright was born to make. He had the idea for the film after making his first feature,...

The new CBeebies Clangers series is a rare thing: an advert for the wisdom of remaking old childhood properties…
When it was first reported on this site that Smallfilms’ sixties and seventies stop-motion classic children’s series Clangers was next for the remake treatment, the fears of many were wittily summed up by one commenter:
“Surely in this age of self-aware/horribly loud/jitteringly insane Adhd-driven kids’ programming, those in charge of the £s are unlikely to sign off on the kind of gentle, quiet whimsy in which Oliver Postgate specialised, and which made Clangers so magical? Or they’ll insist on introducing a new teenaged son Clanger who has a flying skateboard or something? And who speaks like a marketing hack’s idea of what a teenaged boy speaks like? Or the Iron Chicken will lay exploding eggs?” - StefMo.

Director Edgar Wright's alien-invasion/drinking comedy The World's End is out on Blu-ray, DVD and Digital today, and the charming Brit director gamely engages in a Q&A with ETonline about his sci-fi inspirations and the origins of the film that he wrote with pal Simon Pegg; how he now finds a full pint "daunting"; and he even reveals a little insight into why the world will champion his highly anticipated upcoming Marvel movie Ant-Man, from T-shirts to Halloween costumes.
The World's End follows a group of friends (Pegg, Nick Frost, Martin Freeman, Rosamund Pike, Paddy Considine and Eddie Marsan) who embark on an epic 12-pub crawl in their hometown in an effort to complete "The Golden Mile," having fallen short two decades earlier when they were teens in their prime. Back to finish what they started, the reunited pals find out the hard way that an alien robo-invasion is taking place. The hilarious...

The World's End lands in theaters everywhere on Friday, and the Edgar Wright alien-invasion/drinking comedy featuring Simon Pegg, Nick Frost, Martin Freeman, Rosamund Pike and Pierce Brosnan draws on a number of cinematic inspirations, from Invasion of the Body Snatchers-style sci-fi classics to The Big Chill-styled reunion movies. In fact, Wright recently assembled 14 fave influences (several of which are listed below) in a thematic, double-feature screening series at the New Beverly Cinema in Los Angeles to get audiences in the proper frame of mind.

After the double disaster of The Beast Below and Victory Of The Daleks , Matt Smith's first season improves with an adventure that sees the return of the dreaded Weeping Angels. It's the season's first two-parter, The Time Of Angels/Flesh And Stone, which not only brings back the Angels, but Miss Smug herself, River Song. It's also the story that accelerates with the season's over-riding story arc of the mysterious Crack – which depending on your point of view is an asset or a curse.
A common comparison with Blink and its sequel is that of the first two Alien films. Whereas Alien was a brooding, psychological masterpiece of suggestive claustrophobia, Aliens is more of an out-and-out action adventure, full of flashy heroics and battles. Which is true to a point when you reassess the two Weeping Angels stories. Angels Stone is more action-packed than its predecessor, but there's still...
