As most know, Amber called it quits with Johnny in May 2016. She accused him of domestic violence and gained a restraining order against him. Johnny Depp is back in the directors chair — complete with his big signature hats — for the first time in decades.
Depp is seen directing the cast of the film “Modi” in first look photos that were released from the set. Al Pacino plays a supporting role as real-life French art collector Maurice Gangnat.
The film is Depp’s first time directing since the 1997 feature “The Brave,” as well as his first major project after his 2022 legal victory over Amber Heard.
Per the press release, “Modi” follows “the life of Italian artist Amedeo Modigliani in a 48-hour whirlwhind, capturing a chaotic series of events through the streets and bars of war-torn Paris during World War I. On the run from the police, Modi’s desire to end his career and leave the city is dismissed by fellow Bohemians. The chaos reaches a crescendo when he’s faced with a collector who could change his life.

The ‘Halo’ franchise revolves around the Spartans, super soldiers who defend the galaxy against an alien force known as the Covenant. In the new Paramount Plus TV series, one of the Spartans is played by Kate Kennedy, who talked to Variety about her experience gearing up in the armor for the show.
“It was really empowering, I loved entering set everyday wearing the suit,” Kennedy told Variety on the red carpet of the “Halo” premiere this Wednesday. “I felt so badass. And being around such incredible women, and [executive producer] Kiki Wolfkill at the helm, they’re all so impressive, and I’m in awe of all of them.”
Kennedy also told Variety that the suit also helped protect her from sustaining injuries during filming.
“On day one, Pablo [Schreiber] has a video actually, I’m sure it will come to surface, of me totally hitting deck, just face-plant in the cave,” Kennedy said.

Halo, after more than eight winding years in development, will finally land at Paramount+ this spring.
The sci-fi drama, which stars Pablo Schreiber as video game icon Master Chief, has gone through a number of hoops to get to the ViacomCBS streaming platform – from switching over from Showtime to Paramount+ to the exit of co-showrunner Kyle Kinnen in 2018. However, executive producers including Kiki Wolfkill and Justin Falvey say that finally launching the series was a product of commitment and patience.
“When you have a piece of IP like this, such massive scale and scope, it takes some time to get it right and the commitment from somebody on Steve’s level or any of the other folks we’ve been talking to…it’s recognizing the realities of that and getting it right and being patient,” said Falvey, who executive produces for Amblin Television. “There’s been a constant of...

"What does one do with a superpower you're not sure you can trust?" Microsoft / Ambiln have debuted the full official trailer for the new live-action Halo series, which launches on Paramount+ in March. The original Halo game launched for Xbox in 2001, with many sequels along the way. Aliens threaten humanity in an epic 26th-century showdown. With a first scene as stylish as that from Kissing Candice, the words “music video chic” come to mind before you can even discover writer/director Aoife McArdle is a James Vincent McMorrow regular who also released a short in collaboration with U2’s 2014 release Songs of Innocence. Between the oppressive reds and aural manipulation (I thought the volume wasn’t working until the score finally kicks in to augment the titular kiss), you can’t help admiring the sensory craftsmanship onscreen despite having no contextual basis for anything occurring. What begins as a romantic interlude shared between Candice (Ann Skelly) and Jacob (Ryan Lincoln) soon shifts to the latter randomly and silently strolling down the street (through fire) until finally arriving at a bar where the former is inexplicably waiting.

On the last night of the Afghan War, five British soldiers must stay alive until midnight. After a fight with Taliban forces, they bunk down in the ruins of an old fort dating back to the first Afghan war. As the night wears on, they encounter a hellish labyrinthine with supernatural forces.
While most found-footage films are a slow burn that linger for the first 80 minutes before igniting into a blaze the last 10 minutes, Boots On The Ground throws us right into the action against hounding Taliban forces. Gone are the days when the audience was expected to slog through aimless exposition and minor scares that amounted to little more than a tease. It is almost as if director and screenwriter Louis Melville expects our found-footage horror movies to actually be interesting!

In a kill-or-be-killed world where starvation is rife and strangers are always dangerous, The Survivalist lives off the grid, and by his wits. When a starving woman and her teenage daughter discover his forest refuge, his loneliness drives him to overcome his suspicion and strike a bargain with them in return for bed and board. But as desire becomes stronger than necessity, the exchange becomes an uneasy, ongoing arrangement which threatens not only his carefully constructed world but also his life.
If I had to live alone in a forest, I probably wouldn’t last long enough to tweet for help. It would be a #disaster. The Survivalist, however, seems to have got surviving down (although with a name like that, who is surprised?...
