I want to take a moment and extend my thoughts and condolences to Dustin Lance Black, who lost his brother, his protector, Marcus, to cancer this weekend.
Speaking in Florida Wednesday, Newt Gingrich promised that by the second term of his presidency America would have a permanent base on the moon. As much as I want our space program back to glory, I can't stomach one term of Newt, much less two.
There's a great article on the ambitious production of Giant that Matt Doyle is a part of in Dallas, and the hopes it has for Broadway.
I don't know what to say about these images of Miley Cyrus molesting the giant penis birthday cake from her boyfriend Liam Hemsworth's birthday party. I can't get past the fact that he has a giant chocolate icing red velvet penis cake for his birthday to think about her vamping.

Getting some action after seeing "The Hangover Part II" shouldn't be too hard. After all, you're part of the Wolfpack, aren't you?
The key to this endeavor is to appreciate, while not actually engaging in, the extremes to which the Wolfpack indulges. In other words, it's best to approach the evening in the spirit of rambunctiousness without, you know, drinking and partying to the point of amnesia.
So get yourself a facial tattoo (just kidding... for the most part, anyway) and let's map out the perfect "Hangover" date.
Holla, City of Squala!
"The Hangover Part II" is pretty much just like the first "Hangover," except that it trades Las Vegas for Bangkok. If this were 2009 and you were taking your date to see the first movie, we'd tell you to go find a buffet and play the slot machines; but as the setting for the new movie is a bit more exotic,...

Jacob salutes the might of supernatural kung-fu movies, with a tip of the hat to Chinese vampires and ghost stories along the way...
The 1980s were a great period for cinema, heralding original ideas and forward thinking, which is now being reprocessed by a Hollywood bereft of the risk and daring associated with the decade in the first place.
Of course, Hong Kong action cinema was no different. Jackie Chan had just signed with Golden Harvest, a young Yuen Biao had shown his acrobatic prowess in Knockabout (1984) and Sammo Hung (Kam-Bo ) was busy making the innovative Encounter Of The Spooky Kind (1980) hence giving birth to 'the supernatural kung fu' genre.
Sammo included kung fu action, comedy and traditional ghost stories to produce something of brilliance. However, even though this was a fantastic offshoot from traditional kung fu, it was also a frustrating one, as so few of the films held up to the early promise.
