Cobra Kai season 6: Netflix announces premiere dates for 15 episode, 3 part conclusion to the series
Production on the sixth and final season of the hit Netflix series Cobra Kai, a continuation of the Karate Kid film franchise, was delayed several months due to the writers and actors strikes last year – but the extended wait is going to be worth it, because Netflix has just announced that the show is wrapping up with a 15 episode season (previous seasons consisted of 10 episodes), and they’re splitting the episodes up to make it a three part event! As they put it, “The end of a legacy… deserves a Grand Finale.” They’ve also revealed premiere dates: Cobra Kai Season 6, Part 1 premieres July 18, 2024. Part 2 premieres November 28, 2024. The Finale Event comes in 2025.
I’m hyped to finally have premiere dates for most of the episodes, because this show has become one of my all-time favorites over the course of the previous five seasons. I grew up on the Karate Kid movies and always enjoyed them,...

Curtis Bonds Baker/Netflix © 2021 As it turns out, Johnny Lawrence was a career-defining character for William Zabka, who’s played the role in The Karate Kid, The Karate Kid Part II, and the series Cobra Kai. Not surprisingly, there were plenty of actors who wanted the part when the casting call went out. So, how did he beat them all and win the role? Zabka recalls when he did his original audition, he was Johnny Lawrence. Summer movie-going is not done just yet: in the waning days of the season, there are four more studio releases before Labor Day. Universal’s R-rated animal comedy “Strays” opens this Friday, while Sony has the delayed “Gran Turismo” on August 25 and “The Equalizer 3” (Sony) on September 1. Most intriguing, though? Friday’s other big release.
DC Comics’ “Blue Beetle” (Warner Bros.) will arrive this weekend alongside “Strays,” and it appears to be the biggest question mark left on the release calendar, with the potential to rise above the others and exceed expectations in the process. But whatever it ultimately grosses, its release raises a number of interesting questions likely to be a big part of next weekend’s analysis, with the potential to have an impact on production decisions as well as current distribution decisions.
Here are some of the intriguing elements that will be looked at by industry...

Cobra Kai. (L to R) William Zabka as Johnny Lawrence, Ralph Macchio as Daniel Larusso in Cobra Kai. Cr. Curtis Bonds Baker/Netflix In The Karate Kid, William Zabka’s Johnny Lawrence was clearly made out to be the film’s bad guy, a rival in every way to Ralph Macchio’s Daniel Larusso. But, three decades later, when the series Cobra Kai was first pitched, the idea was to make Lawrence — although still Larusso’s rival — a much more sympathetic character. And, as the series has progressed, we’ve even seen an unlikely friendship develop between the two characters. Speaking at a Steel City Con panel, Zabka talked about his feelings regarding the evolution of Johnny Lawrence from the Karate Kid movies to Cobra Kai. Paramount+’s Wolf Pack season one episode one introduced the four high school students who transform into werewolves. The season premiere confirmed their backstories were changed for the show, and instead of all four being siblings like in Edo Van Belkom’s book series, two were born that way while the other two were bitten during a devastating forest fire.

Knowing that Cobra Kai Season 6 will be the final season is a little bit sad. Cobra Kai gave Karate Kid fans so much joy and introduced a whole new generation of karate kids. At least ending the show now means the inevitable legacy revival will happen even sooner. The final season of Cobra Kai is sure to end with a bang. Here are seven burning questions we hope the Cobra Kai final season answers.

This is the last chance to fully connect all the Karate Kid films to Cobra Kai. Hilary Swank played Julie Pierce in The Next Karate Kid. Spoiler alert! Do not proceed if you have not watched “Teen Wolf: The Movie”.
The “Teen Wolf” movie brought Scott McCall and his friends back to Beacon Hills, but one key person was missing from the action: Scott’s best friend, Stiles Stilinski.
The two-hour reunion film, which dropped Thursday on Paramount+, kept Stiles’ presence alive even though its portrayer, Dylan O’Brien, did not appear onscreen. The 31-year-old actor made it clear last year that he would not be reprising his fan-favourite character for the movie.
So, how exactly did the movie explain Stiles’ absence?

With Netflix, where more begets more in a never-ending deluge of programming, you can’t help but use superlatives to describe the biggest and most prolific of streaming giants. Its creepiest show this year? Hands down the relentless mega-hit docudrama Dahmer — Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story. The loudest? Probably the extravagantly mindless Ryan Gosling shoot-’em-up film The Gray Man. And while Netflix often gets knocked for emphasizing quantity over quality, several shows manage to achieve critical mass and acclaim. Here’s a quick take on some of Netflix’s very best of 2022. Most Worth the Wait Season 4 of Stranger Things arrived after a nearly three-year hiatus with bigger, scarier thrills for its maturing adolescent cast and adult heroes (who were off in their own Russian horror show). Season 1 of Tales of The Walking Dead has just concluded with six episodes that took a varied view of the zombie apocalypse.
The latest installment set within The Walking Dead universe was an anthology series that took a look at six different stories.
From the familiar, where fans learned more about Alpha (Samantha Morton) before she joined the Whisperers, right through to the bizarre, when a couple of work colleagues get stuck in a zombie apocalypse version of Groundhog Day.
And in between were plenty of other new characters that explored the outbreak. Some were prepared, others were not.
Some stories even bordered on ghost tales and whodunnits.
Now that the season is complete, viewers wonder if AMC will renew the TV show for another season.

Episode six of AMC’s Tales of the Walking Dead, the final episode of season one, opens with a couple standing in the dark. They’re in the woods and eerie screams and creepy whispers can be heard as they take off running.
Daylight arrives and the woman, Idalia (Daniella Pineda), makes note that Maria (a zombie) is still following them. She thinks she knows where they are and may know of a place they can stay, but just for the night. Eric (Danny Ramirez) wonders why they’d only stay one night and Idalia explains the woman who lives there is kind of a healer. She’s into spells and other mystical stuff.
It’s dark by the time they arrive at a gate surrounded by tall walls.

Season one episode five of AMC’s post-apocalyptic anthology series Tales of the Walking Dead opens with Davon waking up from a blow to the head. The season’s penultimate episode is told in a non-linear style, so it’s a bit confusing to see this just-introduced character is handcuffed to a zombie who’s trying to attack him.
Davon experiences a brief flashback of a woman and some drawings on a wall. He grabs a prostatic leg and begins to hit the zombie over the head with it.
It’s the dead of night as this is going down, and a little girl finds him. He asks for help, and she yells for her mom. It’s obvious she knows him as she yells,...

The penultimate episode of Tales of The Walking Dead gives viewers a creepy melodramatic whodunnit.
Previously, the new anthology series has touched on various aspects of The Walking Dead universe.
Most episodes have remained close to what viewers expect to see but Episode 2 took a giant leap off to one side and introduced an episode that felt like Groundhog Day.
This week’s installment falls somewhere between the two.
While this episode could be seen as just another alternative community set in Madawaska, Maine, there is also an otherworldly feel as the episode is shot mostly at night and with a community that is intent on an old-fashioned witchhunt
So, let’s see what went down in Episode 5, titled Davon.

[Warning: The following contains Major spoilers for Tales of The Walking Dead Season 1 episode 5, “Davon.”] The A-Train is back, ba—wait, wrong show. But isn’t it cool to see Jessie T. Usher join the Walking Dead universe? In “Davon,” Usher plays a character far removed from The Boys’ super-speedy superhero. Davon is a regular ol’ survivor in the walker-verse, aside from waking up in the forest with a mob surrounding him and insisting he committed a murder he has no memory of. You know. Normal survivor stuff. Curtis Bonds Baker/AMC Usher’s Davon goes on a tour through his memories as he runs from the crowd, piecing together what happened to him bit by bit at each location. We discover that he wound up in the community, which is in Maine, as he was trying to get to Montreal. On the way, he suffered some mysterious injury which led to the lower half of his ...

Cobra Kai. (L to R) Tanner Buchanan as Robby Keene, William Zabka as Johnny Lawrence in Cobra Kai. Cr. Curtis Bonds Baker/Netflix © 2022 Back in the ’80s, when William Zabka’s Karate Kid character had run its course in the original films (he wasn’t invited back for The Karate Kid III), he thought his days as Johnny Lawrence were gone forever. He certainly wasn’t anticipating that, 35 years later, his story would continue in a TV series sequel, Cobra Kai. But now, after four critically acclaimed seasons, the show’s fifth season has just been released on Netflix. When Zabka thinks about how the experience has come full circle, from the success he found playing the character as a teen to the success he’s now enjoying playing him as a middle-aged man, it all seems to be a bit unreal. Cobra Kai is getting ready to kick some butt in Season 5 but before the story of Daniel Larusso (Ralph Macchio) and Johnny Lawrence (William Zabka) continues, executive producer Josh Heald is filling us in on what to expect. “Things are scary in the Valley,” Heald warns. “Terry Silver (Thomas Ian Griffith) has reached the dream that he set out to achieve way back in 1985 at the All Valley Tournament when he said he was going to win and open up a Cobra Kai dojo on every corner.” With the bad guy’s domination in the Valley on the rise, things look bleaker and bleaker for Daniel, Johnny, and the people they love and care about. Anthony Edwards as Dr. Everett in ‘Tales of the Walking Dead’ season 1 episode 4 (Photo Credit: Curtis Bonds Baker/AMC)
The opening of AMC’s Tales of the Walking Dead season one episode four is like something straight out of a nature documentary…but with zombies. Dr. Charles Everett (Anthony Edwards) narrates while all sorts of animals and reptiles fill the screen. The animals give way to what he refers to as “Homo Mortuus” (also known as walkers and a variety of other names). Charles has spent years tracking the migration pattern of the dead including specific zombies that he’s given names.
After coming across headless zombie bodies, Charles is more concerned that humans are being vile and hunting zombies for sport than with zombies killing humans. He uses a drone to track the person he believes just beheaded these zombies and that’s when we meet the episode title’s “Amy.

Season 1 of Tales of The Walking Dead is about to head into its penultimate episode.
Already, plenty of new characters have been introduced and this week’s episode is no exception.
Last week’s installment of Tales of The Walking Dead saw a naturalist creating a documentary about the undead, which he referred to as homo Mortis.
Most episodes in this new anthology series so far have featured dual titles and introduced two characters that played off each other in order to tell the story.
The exception to this was Episode 3, which was titled Dee and looked more closely at a character already known in The Walking Dead universe but one that we all knew as Alpha, the leader of the Whisperers.

Cobra Kai, the popular series that extended the Karate Kid franchise returns after the dojo crew of villainous Terry Silver (Thomas Ian Griffith) shockingly won the All Valley Tournament. Is all lost? “In Season 5, we lean into what happens when the war seems over,” says exec producer Josh Heald. Here are three storylines ready to strike: (Credit: Curtis Bonds Baker/Netflix) Silver plans to bring his violent “No Mercy” teachings to other schools. Could villain Mike Barnes’ (Sean Kanan) return be to help? Daniel (Ralph Macchio) has his own weapon in baddie turned ally Chozen (Yuji Okumoto). Last week’s episode of Tales of The Walking Dead saw the new anthology series taking a trip back to the previously covered territory when it decided to further explore Alpha’s (Samantha Morton) backstory.
Episode 3 took a closer look at how Alpha — known as Dee back then — came to join the Whisperers.

Well, maybe that’s not entirely true. The gist of the episode isn’t necessarily Dr. Everett’s (Anthony Edwards) ongoing scientific study about the dead — instead, it’s more of a philosophical debate regarding whether humanity is inherently destructive and evil. This is fine, but as with many of the Tales episodes, we’ve seen it before. Curtis Bonds Baker/AMC The concept behind the episode is pretty nifty though. Dr. Everett is living on one side of a trench in the woods, and he’s continuing to monitor and study the dead using a series of video recorders, cameras and detectors. “Tales of the Walking Dead” Review – Alpha Origin Episode Shows Full Potential of New Spinoff Series
With the latest episode of “Tales of the Walking Dead,” the fresh spin-off has veered as close as it has to the original world and characters of the flagship series. Simply titled “Dee,” the episode follows none other than Season 10 villain Alpha, once again brought to terrifying life by Samantha Morton. While Season 10 brought us a glimpse at who Alpha was before she became leader of the Whisperer clan, this installment of “Tales” shows us an earlier event from Alpha’s past.
Taking a concept that very well could’ve served as the basis for a separate episode featuring new characters, “Dee” mashes an original zombie survival tale with an already well-known character from “The Walking Dead” universe. This enables the episode to not only provide a compelling deep dive into a fan-favorite, but also depict a refreshing zombie apocalypse experience that we haven’t yet seen in the main series before.

Season 1 of Tales of the Walking Dead sits at six episodes so, already, viewers are halfway through.
The series has introduced many new characters and taken a slight detour from the normal layout of the other shows set within The Walking Dead universe.
Episode 1 saw a doomsday prepper and a hippy join up to travel across the country, starting as enemies, and leaving as friends.
Then, in Episode 2, two employees that absolutely despise each other get stuck in the zombie apocalypse version of Groundhog Day, taking the show entirely out of what fans expected to see.
Episode 3 returned to normal viewing as well as returned all the way back to The Walking Dead when Alpha’s (Samantha Morton) backstory was revisited.

[Warning: The following contains Major spoilers for Tales of the Walking Dead Season 1, Episode 3, “Dee.”] Wait, didn’t we already do this? On multiple levels, “Dee” feels like a repeat for the zombie franchise. We’d been on a mysterious boat in Fear the Walking Dead’s second season, and we’d already explored Alpha’s (Samantha Morton) history in Season 9’s “Omega” and Season 10’s “We are the End of the World.” Unfortunately, that leaves this episode of Tales in the position of needing to justify its existence… and while Morton is excellent as ever, it’s hard to cobble together why the show went with this particular story for her. Curtis Bonds Baker/AMC To be honest, save for the final few minutes, most of the episode doesn’t seem written for the “Alpha” character. Almost any mother-daughter duo could’ve been slotted into the main roles. But as it is, sometime after Dee kills...

It’s sweet.” As for future episodes,...

Episode 1 will focus on Joe (portrayed by Terry Crews) and Evie (Olivia Munn), an unlikely pairing that brings some fresh humor to this universe.

As audiences eagerly await the arrival of “Cobra Kai” Season 5 on Netflix next month, fans can whet their appetites with a slew of first-look images for the new season, including the return of yet another familiar face from “Karate Kid” lore.
Season 5 will welcome back Sean Kanan as Mike Barnes, who franchise devotees will remember as one of the main antagonists of “The Karate Kid III.” In that film, he was hired by Terry Silver (Thomas Ian Griffith) to take down Daniel Larusso (Ralph Macchio) in the All Valley Karate Championship. Later in Season 3 of “Cobra Kai,” Daniel tells his daughter Sam that Mike was the most ruthless fighter he ever faced off against. Nothing hits harder in “Cobra Kai” than nostalgia.
“As Terry Silver calls upon some old friends to put the Valley in a stranglehold, Daniel and Johnny are going to need all the help they can get...

Cobra Kai never dies, it’s a sentiment that rings true of the franchise from which the TV spinoff was spawned as The Karate Kid legacy carries on. Helping deliver those throughlines between film and television are series stars Ralph Macchio and William Zabka, who continue to play Daniel Larusso and Johnny Lawrence. As the series prepares for its fifth season, arriving Friday, September 9, the actors — who also serve as executive producers on the Netflix megahit — are reflecting on the latest chapter and on the franchise as a whole. Did the longtime costars think The Karate Kid would continue this long? “Of course not,” Zabka admits. “When you’re 18 years old… you can’t even imagine how much time that is. So, to be here with Season 5 about to come out is incredible.” (Credit: Curtis Bonds Baker/Netflix) While their characters have learned to overcome their differences since the show...
