The latest offering from Disney Animation comes by way of Marvel, but make no mistake, this one is pure Disney magic, as I say in my video review above.
It’s based on a rather obscure Marvel comic of the same name and marks the first time the comics-driven studio within a studio has been involved in animation. Given how this one has turned out, it surely won’t be the last.
The film was directed by Don Hall and Chris Williams and features a voice cast including Scott Adsit, Ryan Potter, Daniel Henney, T.J. Miller, Jamie Chung, Damon Wayans Jr., Genesis Rodriguez, James Cromwell, Alan Tudyk and Maya Rudolph.
Producers are Roy Conli and Disney Animation/Pixar chief John Lasseter. It opens Friday and promises to be one of the holiday’s big hits, perfect fare for families that don’t have a whole lot of choices right now.

Batman, Superman, Iron Man, Captain America, Thor, Spider-Man and, thanks to "Guardians of the Galaxy," Peter Quill all have one thing in common -- and we're not talking about big box office hauls. They're all white. While Marvel reinvigorated the superhero genre with their expert handling of its properties, diversity has been an issue from Phase One. In the 10 films currently making up the Marvel Cinematic Universe, both women and people of color have been oddly under-utilized. Thankfully, the studio is looking to fix that problem -- with standalone films for both "Black Panther" and Carol Danvers as "Captain Marvel" were both announced on Tuesday's big Marvel event in Hollywood.Warner Bros. is also making some headway with their future DC projects, announcing solo films for Wonder Woman and Cyborg in 2017 and 2020, respectively ... while Sony announced a female-led spin-off from the Spider-Man universe for 2017.But, thanks to Walt Disney Animation's new film "Big Hero 6,...

Henry Jackman’s Big Hero 6 Soundtrack Available November 4 – Listen To Fall Out Boy “Immortals” Song
The Big Hero 6 original motion picture soundtrack will be available at digital retail on November 4 and on CD November 24 and features an original song, “Immortals” from Fall Out Boy.
The soundtrack includes score from Henry Jackman (“Captain America: The Winter Soldier,” “Captain Phillips” and “Wreck-It-Ralph”). Pre-order for the album begins today.
Fall Out Boy was tapped to write and perform the song for the film’s sequence in which the “Big Hero 6″ team is transformed from a group of super smart individuals to a band of high-tech heroes. “The idea of this kid stepping up on behalf of his brother is what inspired the song’s title ‘Immortals,'” says Patrick Stump. “Your victories aren’t exclusively yours, so the fact that all of these people are coming together to help him get to the finish line is really exciting.”

Coming off the success of Guardians of the Galaxy, everyone wanted to get their hands on Rocket Racoon and Groot figures, plushies, posters-basically anything that evoked the breakout characters. But Disney may face some competition with...itself, and that's all thanks to Baymax in Big Hero 6. At Disney's New York Comic Con panel, several new scenes were shown from the film, which releases on Nov. 7. And while all of the titular heroes enjoyed some time in the spotlight, from the first to the last scene, the film's robotic healthcare specialist Baymax stole the show. The first clip featured very little of the lovable robot,...

Forget Dancing Groot, as Baymax looks set to take his crown as 2014′s most adorable animated character!
In this first full-length clip from Big Hero 6, we get to see the first meeting between brilliant robotics prodigy Hiro Hamada and Baymax, the character who has been central to all of the movie’s marketing so far.
Marvel’s role in Big Hero 6 was minimal and that the project is very much the brainchild of Disney Animation. Whether we’ll ever get an animated feature from Marvel Studios remains to be seen.
While Big Hero 6 isn’t set in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and doesn’t feature big name characters like Captain America or Iron Man, but the movie which is based loosely on a few short-lived comic book series’ of the same name is directed by Don Hall and Chris Williams and looks like an awful lot of fun.

A boy and his robot are featured in the first full-length trailer for Walt Disney Animation Studios’ “Big Hero 6,” it's first film since “Frozen” took over the world. Will the kid-friendly Marvel comic book adaptation measure up? The newest trailer certainly has charm and laughs, with our hero Hiro Hamada (voiced by Ryan Potter) frantically trying to relay a crime to a bored police officer, while his robot/best friend Baymax (voiced by Scott Adsit) unhelpfully pops a leak. Is it heresy to admit that I am more excited for Big Hero 6 than I am for Guardians of the Galaxy? James Gunn.s authentically edgy superhero adventure is poised to set theaters on fire as August begins, but the sweet and funny relationship formed by Hiro Hamada (Ryan Potter) and his balloonish creation, Baymax (Scott Adsit), amuses me to no end. We knew that a full trailer for the animated adventure was coming, thanks to teases we covered during the week. Now it has arrived, courtesy of MovieFone, and we have it for you above. The bulk of the new trailer is a lengthy sequence where Hiro and Baymax explain to a disinterested police officer that they have encountered a deadly enemy wearing a kabuki mask, who is able to control mechanical creatures with his mind. Hiro can not convince the long arm of the San Franokyo police...

What happens when you take San Francisco and mash it together with the anime aesthetic of Neo Toyko? Well if you're Disney Animation Studios, you toss in robots and telekinetics then sprinkle with a group of teens loosely based on Japanese Sentai (think 'Sailor Moon' or 'Power Rangers'). Shake it together with an Origin Story™ and you've got the basis for 'Big Hero 6.' Earlier today Disney released the first official trailer for their latest in-house CGI offering. And quite frankly, it looks adorable. Who doesn't love a robot who manifests drunken behavior when his battery runs low? But while the characters and comedic timing in the trailer shine through, repeat viewings reveal a couple of sly Easter Eggs. What? You don't actively seek out the hidden gems lurking in the background animation of every Disney film? Are you new here? The trailer focuses on an exchange between...

And you thought Marvel's "Guardians of the Galaxy" looked like the most surreal superhero movie on the horizon. Meet "Big Hero 6." The new trailer for Disney's first animated take on Marvel superhero lore, promises that the film will be more "Wreck-It Ralph" than "The Avengers." In the film, boy genius Hiro Hamada (Ryan Potter) builds a tubby, lovably dim-witted robot called Baymax (voiced by "30 Rock's" Scott Adsit) and puts together a team of rookie superheroes in order to fight a mysterious evil gathering in the city of San Fransokyo. Like the initial teaser, there are a few extended gags involving Baymax's blobby physique and his less-that-perfect grasp on everyday life (such as the hilarious final joke in which he pets a cat and calls it a "hairy baby"). Plus, some eagle-eyed viewers may have seen these Easter eggs. Although "Big Hero 6" is inspired by the Marvel comic of the same name,...

We’ve been getting a number of intriguing teasers for Disney and Marvel’s upcoming big-screen collaboration Big Hero 6 lately, including character profiles and posters, but we had yet to see a full-length trailer for the movie (I’m not counting that cutesy but uninformative teaser trailer) – until today.
In our first real look at Big Hero 6, we see robotics prodigy Hiro Hamada trying to talk to an uninterested cop about how he and his plump robot companion Baymax were attacked by “a man in a cookie mask” and robbed of precious microbots. When that talk doesn’t go well, Hiro and Baymax flee – taking the cop’s roll of tape with them for Baymax. The trailer also gives us our first look at some of the other members of the Big Hero 6, who evidently get pulled into Hiro’s conflict with the microbot thief and wind up running for their lives.

He’s fluffy, slow, and he’s about to get an upgrade [cue the Beyonce song]. He’s Baymax, and he is the perfect best friend as long as he doesn’t run out of batteries. The Big Hero 6 trailer makes the movie feel like a family friendly Iron Man blended with The Iron Giant and whatever else has “iron” in the title. It’s also a nice reminder that there’s another Marvel movie coming out that seeks to fill the Pixarian void. Check out the trailer, and see if you can guess who’s voicing Baymax, the fluffy robot who earns afterburners. This is an absolutely charming trailer that hints at both big adventure and heart. And, yes, that’s Scott Adsit from 30 Rock behind the fluff. The plot feels like stock wish fulfillment, but it also looks incredibly funny and sweet. We’ve already seen some of Disney’s new animated adventure Big Hero 6, though it’s largely been limited to imagery and a teaser focusing on central figure Hiro Hamada and his hefty robot pal Baymax.
