Last week we told you about Bravo's possible season of "Top Chef All-Stars" -- and how recently eliminated "Top Chef: DC" competitor Tiffany Derry is among the rumored cheftestants.
Zap2it readers reacted with outrage at Tiffany's early exit, glee at her possible "All-Star" inclusion and confusion over some of the names left off of the tentative "All-Star" roster.
Here are some of the most noteworthy comments, including last-minute suggestions for casting:
On Tiffany's elimination
Bo: "Top Chef" knows a good thing when they see it. I'm sure we haven't seen the last of Tiffany. She needs her own show. She has too much personality.
Nyla: I have been bummed out since Tiffany was cut. It was not her time to go and right before Singapore. Kevin should have gone. I'm hoping really hard it is not the last we see of her.
Francesca: Having eaten at Tiffany's restaurant, I...

Given the popularity of the second-season opener of The Next Iron Chef, I figured it was a good time to pull out this interview I did with the show's host, Alton Brown, at the network's TCA party in July. It was definitely the tastiest party of the tour, as each Iron Chef contestant plied the critics with delectable morsels of their creativity at various stations.
In a bit of a surprise, one of the contestants, Amanda Freitag, was being assisted by her friend Ariane Duarte, one of the more popular contestants from rival program Top Chef's New York season (I was so flabbergasted by the turn of events, I snapped a pic of the two with my cell phone). When I pointed this tidbit out to Brown, his response was very interesting...

She started out at the bottom, but Top Chef's Ariane Duarte quickly rose to the top, impressing the judges week after week. Unfortunately for this cheftestant, string became the enemy and ultimately the reason for her elimination. The New Jersey restaurant owner explains how the cliquiness in her team was a huge roadblock and shares who she thought should have gone home after the farm challenge.
TVGuide.com: Why did you end up working on the lamb dish if you weren't familiar with tying roasts?
Ariane Duarte: I've cooked lots of lamb, but I don't tie. I've done a whole leg of lamb, whole baby lamb — my grandmother's from Italy so that's what we eat every Easter! Hosea and Leah were supposed to help me. When we decided, I said, "Alright guys, that's what I'll do, but this is what I need from you." It was something they knew and we discussed.
