Robin de Jong(I)
- Editor
Robin de Jong was born In Naarden, The Netherlands in 1987. Being fascinated by horror and comicbook movies at an early age, he started pursuing a career in film after having a cathartic experience while seeing The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring (2001). After making his first feature length film with the help of his friends at the age of 15, he did a short course in filmmaking and found a fascination for film editing and storytelling. From there on out he decided not to enter a formal study in filmmaking, but instead chose to immediately enter the workforce. By working in technical positions at post production facilities in Amsterdam he quickly became an assistant editor on feature films and helped develop new post production workflows in the upcoming wave of digital cameras. From this position he worked himself up becoming a film editor. After cutting his first feature film Claustrofobia (2011), he went on to cut many movies, including To Be King (2012), the award-winning Regret! (2013) and The Conductor (2018). He has been praised, among other things, for balancing the creative, technical and social aspects of the craft.
