“House of the Dragon” creator and showrunner Ryan Condal has joined TheGrill 2022 for a Spotlight Conversation about the unique challenges and experiences involved with expanding the beloved “Game of Thrones” franchise on HBO.
Earlier this year, the premiere of “House of the Dragon” drew nearly 10 million viewers, the largest audience for any new original series in the history of HBO.
Nova Wav, Brittany “Chi” Coney and Denisia “Blu June” Andrews, who co-wrote and co-produced eight songs on Beyoncé’s epic hit album of the summer, “Renaissance,” will also join TheGrill – in person – for an exciting conversation about innovation and music. Nova Wav have written and produced tracks and albums for artists including Beyoncé, Rihanna, DJ Khaled, Ariana Grande, Jay-Z, Saweetie, Nicki Minaj and many more.

Exclusive: Opera star Renée Fleming will appear in live conversations in September and October tied to the Imax releases of documentary films focused on Paris and Venice.
The “Cities That Sing” installments feature Fleming singing, along with special guests, as well as exploring the two European capitals. (Watch a trailer above.)

John Turner, a veteran of the nonfiction world and creator of Netflix crime series Dirty Money, has been appointed head of documentaries for Imax.
Reporting to Imax Entertainment president Megan Colligan, Turner will lead a business line that can be traced back to the inception of the company in 1970.
Turner will also oversee the company’s five-picture deal with Imagine Documentaries, beginning with Mars 2080, about a colony on Mars set 60 years in the future. He will also work closely with Imax music chief Jason Richmond to identify new opportunities. As head of documentaries, Turner will spearhead the development of non-fiction film and will report to Imax Entertainment president Megan Colligan.
“This is the most exciting time for documentary filmmaking and Imax is renowned for its transformative and groundbreaking films – including my own first experience with Imax at the Cinesphere in Toronto,” Turner said in a statement. “Today, it is the leading platform for storytellers who want to showcase the aspirational, and often unbelievable world around us. This past weekend, the film and music industries crossed roads as Imax delivered a unique global stunt for 2x Grammy nominee and multi-platinum selling pop performing artist Halsey timed to her fourth studio album, If I Can’t Have Love, I Want Power.
The large format exhibitor released a 50-minute visual album experience of the same title from Halsey and directed by music video filmmaker Colin Tilley, grossing a great $735K WW from select locations and limited showtimes around the globe. In one evening, If I Can’t Have Love, I Want Power posted a $5K screen average from 100 Imax auditoriums throughout the U.S. and Canada. Tilley has directed videos from such music phenomenons Justin Bieber, the Black Eyed Peas, Nicki Minaj, and Jason Derulo among many others. The pic was shot using Imax cameras.
