A festive gathering turns nasty when a warring family become trapped following a mysterious incident somewhere outside
There’s armrest-clutching brilliance in the way this sweatily tense low-budget British horror lays out a family Christmas from hell, and then cranks it up into something truly gruesome.
Sam Gittins is Nick, who is home for the holidays for the first time in a few years, bringing with him his millennial attitudes and new-ish British-Indian girlfriend Annji (Neerja Naik). Poor Annji: the family are awful enough without the impending apocalypse – Nick’s dad is a controlling bully, his sister is small-minded (in that “I’m not being funny but ...” way) and granddad is a miserable old racist.

It’s nearly that time of year again, my favourite time of year…..no not Halloween! I’m talking about Christmas! And despite its slightly unusual title Await Further Instructions is indeed a Christmas horror film.
Taking place over Christmas Eve and Christmas Day you might expect plenty of cheer but Await Further instructions isn’t the happiest of movies. For a start, the family aren’t the closest. In particular the son, played by Sam Gittins (Howl), who hasn’t seen his family for a number of years but his current girlfriend (Neerja Naik) pushes him to see them for the holiday so she can meet them. It doesn’t take long for her to regret this. His family aren’t exactly the nicest of people. The father...

A British family is confronted with their own worst fears during the holidays. Locked in their own house, they must rise to the occasion or cave in to the pressures of conformity. In Await Further Instructions, the Milgram family has gathered, reluctantly, for the Christmas holiday. After several years away, eldest son Nick (Sam Gittins) has returned with his Middle-Eastern girlfriend Annji (Neerja Naik). Nick's mother Beth (Abigail Cruttenden) is welcoming, but her warmth is countered by the chilly reaction of Nick's father Tony (Grant Masters), a stiff, overbearing man with anger issues who still harbors tremendous ill will toward his son's rejection of his values. Nick's grandfather is even worse, a nasty and smug fellow who makes snide remarks...

A decade ago, Johnny Kevorkian's impressed us with the release of his feature film debut The Disappeared (review) and now the director has returned with another frightening vision: Await Further Instructions.
The horror unfolds over the Christmas holidays when Nick (Sam Gittins) returns home for the holidays with his new girlfriend Annji (Neerja Naik) in tow. She's excited to meet the rest of the Milgram clan but they're not so keen on her.
The tension gets serious when, on Christmas Day, the family wakes to find themselves trapped in the house with their only outside contact being the instructions being dolled out on their TV. Needless to say, things quickly get out of...

We've got a trailer here's for a dark and twisted horror sci-fi thriller called Await Further Instructions that looks like it could be a fun and creepy movie. I'm not really familiar with anyone involved with the movie, but I like what I'm seeing in this first trailer.
"The story revolves around the Milgram family, who have gathered to celebrate Christmas, only to find a mysterious black substance has surrounded their house. Something monumental is clearly happening right outside their door, but what exactly – an industrial accident, a terrorist attack, nuclear war? Descending into terrified arguments, they turn on the television, desperate for any information. On screen, a message glows ominously: ‘Stay Indoors and Await Further Instructions...'"
The movie comes from director Johnny Kevorkian and it stars David Bradley, Neerja Naik, Hannah Emily Anderson (Jigsaw), David Bradley (Game of Thrones), Sam Gittins (The Smoke), Holly Weston (Howl), Kris Saddler...

Directed by Johnny Kevorkian and written by Gavin Williams, Await Further Instructions (starring David Bradley from Game of Thrones and Doctor Who, Sam Gittins, Neerja Naik, and Grant Masters) follows the Milgram family, who wake up on Christmas Day to discover that their home has been surrounded by an ominous black substance and the only "answers" they have as to what is going on is a message on their TV screen that reads "Stay Indoors and Await Further Instructions." Viewers can find out what those instructions may be when Dark Sky Films releases the new horror movie in theaters and on VOD beginning October 5th, and we have the trailer and poster for Daily Dead readers to check out ahead of its release.

"Someone's locked us in." Dark Sky Films has debuted an official trailer for a freaky new sci-fi horror-thriller titled Await Further Instructions, made by filmmaker Johnny Kevorkian. The film's plot is about an argumentative family that gets together on Christmas. When they wake up on Christmas Day, they discover their house is covered with black material, and when they turn on the TV it says: "Stay Indoors and Await Further Instructions." That's a wicked cool idea for a horror film, something out of "Black Mirror" or "The Twilight Zone". Alas, this doesn't look as good as I'd hoped, a bit too weird, but I'm still very curious about it. The film's cast includes David Bradley, Abigail Cruttenden, Holly Weston, Sam Gittins, Grant Masters, Neerja Naik, and Kris Saddler. This is definitely worth a look, for that concept alone. Here's the first trailer (+ posters) for Johnny Kevorkian's Await Further Instructions, from...

Tagline: "Contain. Corrupt. Control." Dark Sky Films has debuted the first trailer for Johnny Kevorkian's Await Further Instructions. Written by Gavin Williams, events take place on Christmas Day. The Milgrams are trapped in a family home as strange experiments are forced upon them. Await Further Instructions stars: David Bradley ("Dr. Who") Sam Gittins, Neerja Naik and Grant Masters. This sci-fi and horror title will debut in early October. A preview of Await Further Instructions' impending release are hosted here. For more on the story, a mysterious substance has surrounded the Milgram house. Inside, there is only panic. But, what is happening outside? Their television provides little information. And, this idiot box demands stranger and stranger actions. Dark Sky Films will show the film in a few theatres and on Digital platforms. A theatre listing is on the way. However, Await Further Instructions will be available on October 5th.

As if the lineup for Arrow Video FrightFest 2018 wasn't impressive enough, the festival has added two films to its slate: David Barker's Pimped (touted as an erotic thriller with a touch of Hitchcock and Brian De Palma appeal) and screenings of the restoration of John Carpenter's classic Halloween! The guest lineup includes Barbara Crampton, Leigh Whannell, Shaked Berenson (Tales of Halloween), Issa López (Tigers are not Afraid), composer Fabio Frizzi, and many more!
Press Release: Two extra films have been added to the record-breaking 2018 line-up: Pimped is director David Barker’s modern transgressive erotic thriller, an Hitchcocktail of elevated suspense and shock in the revered style of Brian De Palma, And If you’ve never seen John Carpenter’s Halloween on the big screen, now’s your best chance. The inclusion of this 4K restoration needs no explanation in anticipation of a new Michael Myers slasher being released in October.

In this round-up we have two exclusive excerpts from horror-thrillers. First up is Neil Gibson's graphic novel Twisted Dark Vol. 5, followed by Vaughn Entwistle's The Angel of Highgate. Also: five new images from Await Further Instructions.
Twisted Dark Volume Five: "Twisted Dark is a series of interconnected psychological thrillers, perfect for fans of twist endings and comics that reveal more on the second reading. Each story stands alone, but the more you read, the more connections you see between the characters. There are over 100 characters that appear more than once and one of the joys of reading is when you spot a reference that you know others will have missed. A rotating team of talented artists draw the stories, with each style offering something new."
Twisted Dark Vol. 5 will be released by TPub Comics in February. To read the first half of Twisted Dark Volume 1, visit: http://goo.gl/Zo...

I’ve reviewed quite a few British gangster movies and know what to expect, some take themselves a little too seriously and others look to offer comedy. As long as you know that then there is a good chance they end up being entertaining at least. The British gangster movie to be released is Hackney’s Finest, which is a film I remember looking for funding from a Kickstarter campaign, so it’s nice to see an independent film getting some success to mainstream distribution.

The London Indian Film Festival hosted the UK premier of Disney’s Million Dollar Arm yesterday and it was attended by producer Mark Ciardi and actor Madhur Mittal amongst a host of other showbiz celebrities including Meera Syal, Kulvinder Ghir, Ameet Chana, Tanveer Ghani, Tanya Franks and Neerja Naik.
The film, which was well received by the excited audience, was followed by a Q&A session with Mark and Madhur, mediated by Sunny and Shay (BBC London 94.9). Much of the audience’s interest revolved around shooting in India, the cast’s chemistry and the film’s basis on a true story.
Mark shared his experiences of struggling in the heat of India, catching Delhi Belly and having to accommodate the incredible Alan Arkin’s requests for filtered water due to his nervousness at catching something whilst filming. He also disclosed his own past experiences of playing baseball and modelling!

Launched on Kickstarter last month, upcoming British gangster film, Hackney’s Finest, is heading for the last hurdles on its path to distribution.
The two-month production was completed earlier in the year, and is just shy of its £6,000 goal over on Kickstarter, with a little under a week left on the clock.
To help whet your appetite, a new extended trailer has landed online, giving a good look at what’s to come. And though some of the accents feel a little off – though, having never been to Hackney, take that with a pinch of salt – it looks like a kind of Lock, Stock fifteen years on.
Hackney’s Finest is a lighthearted journey into the dark underbelly of London. A fast-paced crime thriller, packed with intrigue, corruption, dirty police, Afghan heroin smugglers, Welsh-Jamaican arms dealers and Eastern-European skinheads!
