Allison Mattox is a writer and director who studied at the University of Southern California and now lives in Brooklyn, New York.
Her short film, "Échappé," won Film Pipeline's short film competition, screened at festivals including Traverse City, Newport Beach, and Dance on Camera, and won awards at San Francisco Independent and Sedona.
After the success of the short film, Allison developed a feature script for "Échappé" which was a quarterfinalist for the Nicholl Fellowships, a semifinalist in the Austin Film Festival, and received a development grant from the Middlebury New Filmmakers Festival.
She also works in theater and directed Sarah DeLappe's play "The Wolves" (Pulitizer Prize Finalist) at The Flea Theater in New York City. In 2023, she is slated to direct Barbara Hammond's "We are Pussy Riot or Everything is P.R."
Allison is developing a series about a cult-like ballet company, a feature film about an Appalachian coal community, and a book of personal essays about her childhood as a former evangelical homeschooler.
